Just got off the phone with the Milton Keynes Apple Store to confirm they have our reservations for the 24th at the store, what with all the issues with availabilty and lack thereof. Good News! They do! :D

Whilst I was talking to them I also asked which networks are available in store, and ‘currently’ it’s as I surmised - Orange, Voda & O2. But even though the guy didn’t say it out loud, it sounded as if there may be other options once they’re announced…

He also told me that there will be a separate queue for reservations. I'll be there. Anybody else heading to MK next Thursday?

O2 have put up their pricing for the handset now. Exactly the same as Orange.

I'm tempted to see if I can't scrape the PAYG price up instead but I know I should wait for Three and T-Mobile to drop their pricing first.

I've also been told there will be three separate queues, as sim free and payg will be quicker turn around than contract options.

So the only differntiator between Orange and O2 are inclusive packages.

Come on Vodafone - release the leaked costs already.

I bet now that they've seen that O2 and Orange are the same, there prices will be revised in line with them.

Don't you know it. The networks are rubbing their hands in anticipation to the money they are going to make off this phone!

I hope they keep the free voda-voda calls, though it's looking unlikely as they aren't doing pre-ordering :sigh:

Decent for what the average Apple user will be using it for, yes.

When I was between graphics cards (sold GTX285, hadn't bought 5870) I swapped in my old 8800gts 320mb and gave my dad a borrowed 8300gs. In three months, he didn't notice the difference.

Why does everyone assume everyone is a troll? :O

Well I have an iPhone 3GS now and I love it. But the lack of Flash is a big deal to me. So this new HTC looks pretty much as good as the new iPhone but it will let me use Flash too, so that's a big bonus.

The reason I want Flash is because of this place:
    http://www.kongregate.com/

I would have to research it more before I bought one though. But either way I would be happy. My current phone is amazing, so if I can get the same thing but with some nice bonuses like 720p video recording then I'll be over the moon.

I'm Guessing you mean the Desire?

I have been looking at those as an alternative to the new iPhone, and as much as I think I'd get one, I just don't really like the feel of Andriod as an OS. I dunno why, it just feels "cheap" and unfinished to me.
The hardware itself isn't bad, and it feels nice to hold AND the packages on offer from Voda/T-mobile are considerably better than those found for the iPhone so far, but I just can't pass that OS barrier.

I'd say if you are thinking of moving away from your 3GS to give it a go in a store, or find a friend that has one and see what it feels like to play with and see how you get on with the os.
The other thing is, how much have you spent on apps for the iPhone you have? Would you want to just throw that money away essentiatlly (assuming you have spent some cash on apps at all)?
Is there any reason that you prefer flash games to some of the fantastic games that can be found as apps in the App Store?

There are games in the Android store as well, you know?

A larger percentage of them are free, also.

It's all YMMV. The HTC Desire is a cracking little phone (there's just that battery life...). Android is not yet as polished as iOS but it will mature over time. I really see very little difference between the two.

I have an iPhone because Android's T-Mobile offering at the time was crap, frankly. But Android devices have come a long way. I'm already on the iPhone bandwagon --I have an iPod connector in my car; I have an iPod dock on my stereo-- and see no reason to switch (see? That's why timing matters and Apple is good at being First) but I would never dismiss an HTC Android device as an option.

Quite right Nexxo. Thats what I was trying to get at (obviously didn't articulate it quite right) :)
The other thing was, is flash games that much of a deal-breaker that you would change away from a system that you have already invested time and money (accessories, apps etc) in?

    ************ :wallbash:

I really dont want to pay £119 for a phone on a £35/mo contact, its just excessive.
As you say, 1GB is much nicer admitidly but at this point, all the contracs are a bit much of a muchness.
