too add on what Stewb and Nexxo said:

jailbreak does void warranty IF (and only IF) you try to return it while it's jailbroken. jailbreak is reversible. So no matter what state your phone is in, you can always put in DFU mode, flash to stock firmware. in that sense, as long as you didn't install something that damages the bootrom (pretty much impossible, unless you download from unknown Cydia repository added by yourself)

for updating, you have two options: loose jailbreak momentarily by update as soon as Apple releases new firmware; or wait a few days for jailbreak to arrive, then update and jailbreak as usual.

however, this jailbreak is a software bug in iOS. it will be fixed on next patch. so don't expect a jailbreak out on 4.1 within a few days of its release. when iPhone Dev Team, aka jailbreakers have found exploit on iPhone 4's hardware, that's when you can expect a jailbreak within a few days of new firmware release.

when i had my iPhone 2G, because there's already hardware exploit, sometimes it's just a mater of wait a few hours for the dev team to release their updated tool that accepts new firmware. you can expect the same when iPhone 4's hardware exploit is found

BTW: anyone worrying about the iPhone 4's antenna problems should know that I'm posting this from my iPhone 4, on 3G, from a spot in the hospital where I work where my iPhone 3G used to get no data signal whatsoever. :)

Sounds about right, I have yet to speak to a iPhone4 user who has any issues with the signal.

Yet we can all cause the signal bars to drop!

The iPhone4 is far superior for signal an call quality over my Nokia N82.

How is the battery life on the iPhone 4? Apologies if this has been answered before but I'm on my iPhone just now and don't want to trawl through dozens of pages.

40% better than the previous models, it is claimed (inside it is about two-thirds battery). In practice I find it about the same as my old 3G: 2 days with unfettered use, all bands (3G, WiFi and Bluetooth) switched on.

The signal appears to be better than the old one, i do find myself causing no service when im surfing/playing on it tho :( I don't have a case for it yet, not seen one i want, well, theres one, but 70 quid for a case? No Thanks!

My gf has a 3GS, her battery lasts longer than my 4, and ive power cycled it twice :/ Ive not got a full day out of it yet :(

You need a trip to the apple store to have it looked at - it should last longer than that. I use my IP4 all day (Wifi, 3G & BT enabled), and by the time I drop it in the dock before I turn in for the night, it's usually got 65-70% showing on the battery.

I get through the day with it downloading a few hundred emails, sending a few texts and some decent call time with about 50% battery remaining.

On the first charge and the first days heavy use I managed to drain the battery down to 20%.

You won't, as there isn't one. I guess it's to stop anybody picking uit up if the phone is unlocked and going to town with your iTunes account.

On the subject of battery life, you did run the battery flat on first use before charging, right?

Like GOO said, it is 100% for your own safety. You don't need a huge password because iTunes will lock out pretty sharpish after failed attempts, also best to turn on the 4 digit passcode as well and have it auto lock within 5 minutes or whatever. These days our phones carry enough personal info to make it hell to lose a phone.

Within 20 seconds of reading your post I had booted up the app store on my iPad and ordered Civ Rev. Gutted that the iPad version is £7.49 ... a bit steeper than I would like to pay.

FREE for the iPhone version? Hell yes!

    Little help please.

For some reason, my .me calendars are not syncing with my iPhone. I have several calenders for work, home etc, and a couple of subscribed calenders.

I have push data enabled, and the calender settings are:
    New Invite Alerts = On
    Sync = 1 Month back
    Time zone support = On
    Default Calendar = Calendar

All calendars are set to display. iP4, iOS 4.0.1

I've tried deleting all calendars off the iPhone by turning off the sync and then turning it back on again, but this hasn't helped. The phone retrieves all my .me calendars again, but there are still no dates in them. The subscribed calendars are also not showing... But I know that there are dates in them as one's a sports fixture schedule for my local Rugby Team, and the other is our D&D / Roleplaying joint calendar.

Any ideas? The only thing I can see on the calendar page is phases of the moon!
