Well it's almost time. I'm playing though again to get up to speed and can't bloody wait until it drops on my doorstep next week!

UK's first review up (of the 360 version) over at NowGamer and it's well worth a read if you're looking forward to the next instalment of this sci-fi opera

I would imagine that some people with questionable moral standards, might already be playing the game.
And I would image that those people would say that the game is very, very good. And that it surpasses the predecessor.
    But its all speculation......

I was intrigued by the amount of hype about ME2 so I decided to get Mass Effect, and at 13 quid it was well worth it. Have finished ME1 already and have just pre-purchased ME2!

I bought Mass Effect in the steam sale and am currently working my way through it... seems good so far!

Geez, makes me wish I hadn't pre-ordered the game now.

I would also imagine that they include end mission screens that are a pain in the ass but otherwise it might be a kick ass game that i would be already well into if i was such a immoral person.

I got ME1 on the 360 from a forum member here for about a tenner, now i can hardly wait for the sequel. I'm so hyped! And normally i don't even like RPGs.

ME2 is less "rpg" than mass effect seems more third person shooter.

I think that's mainly what they're showcasing because that's what they've improved. BioWare have had the RPG element down for ages, but the combat in ME was pretty dire.

The end of mission screens though....what the hell where they thinking adding that into the game.
Example of problem it will create.

You visit a new area to complete a mission and if you open the wrong door before you have finished exploring the area it will skip to the end mission screen and you can not return and explore unless you saved.

Oh, I can vouch that it is indeed out on certain sites. For PC at least. Now if I can just resist the temptation for the next 2 days.

I agree with that, as brilliant as the first is the combat was always a weakness. Same RPG elements and improved combat, yes please :)

Western RPGs such as this makes it great to have games such as Mass Effect and being its a trilogy makes it worth while.

If they stop this storyline with a trilogy. But when they do make more games a Mass Effect MMO would be cool. By the way does anyone know when the third book will be coming out?

But will it still have Shepard/the same storyline? Or is it going to be the planned trilogy and then new characters?

I hope so. As much as I love the plot and characters in the first game they really shouldn't limit themselves. I mean it is a whole new universe they can make up.
