    @Sir Digby- Shh! That's what I was putting in mine.

    @Editor - Fillport/tap valve in the I/O plate.:D -Mines up to 30megs. I found you can get SU to free up the CPU. I just wasn't keeping the task manager open long enough...
    -So Ctrl/alt/del, then go take a leak, then cancel.:hehe:

    Think id need to free up my entire CPU just for that lol.. fan cooled, un-clocked P4 @ 2.4Ghz with 1.5 memory lol... gotta hurry up and start buying some parts so I can start on my project :dremel:
    So when we gonna see a new pic then cheapskate? going to be all secretive then BLAM :jawdrop: ?

    - on a side note I got bored and started work on the refill for my next design and came up with this;

    -Ya gotta make it spin.

    I liked the sli fillport thing so much I used it.

    You can see why the hardrive bay was crashing me. The idea for the insides is that everything plugs into the 'head' area. That spot stays sealed because it would likely be a giant wire mass.
    The HD box is a big passive heatsink with a plug jack mount to the front. It holds up to 4 drives.
    I've added a heatsink enclosure to the PSU. Air will be drawn in through the motherboard cover across the drive cage and pump. I need to add the venting under the pump yet.:D In theory I've got the whole thing down to one fan. I guess we'll never know if it would work.:D

    The CPU block would be expensive to make, but I'd love to see someone build and test one. It's essentially a flooded air sink, only in copper. There's no way such a massive surface area wouldn't work.

    I spent a few hours on it today, working on my ATX design, and so far I have the motherboard backplate and a few components for fitting reasons. I'll do some more and post pictures tomorrow.

    Edit: Here's some now:

    Backplate with 2 x 90mm fans.

    @Cheapskate - :jawdrop: thats pretty amazing

    also, I forgot at the time but I may actually be using a water fall in my design (or non-conductive fluid fall) :hehe:

    I haven't got onto the aestetics just yet. I can't start on those until I've finished the structure and placement of parts. Here's what I have so far:

    I can't do tubing :( but I'll give it a go once I'm sure everything's in the right place. I'll include the resevoir soon as well.

    Thanks everyone.:D Unless I blow up someones hardrive again, you could be throwing your vote away...
    @Stuartwood - You work from the inside out. To get crazy, you need to work on the outside, and worry about the insides later. (-Which is why a human hand can no longer fit inside a modern engine assembly.) I get the feeling you are modeling something you plan to really build.
    @Bill - Suuuuure, I'll build it. I just need access to the Lian-li factory, a 5 axis CNC machine, a TIG welder, and $20,000 worth of titanium and aluminum.:hehe: I might skimp and use stainless steel.:D

    @Kylevdm- Ah, D*mn!

    :confused: any ideas on how I could model water/liquid in sketchup

    Or suggestions of other programs that would work better for putting water into the design?

    planning a fully submerged build btw :D

    @Sir Digby - You would have to fill in the 'wet' area with an object. Since SU can't render an object as a solid, I would recommend just adding the top of water.

    @Froop - COOL:D

    Well, this is to get C&C so far.

    My initial inspiration came from a pack of crisps no less. There are packs of crisps that are arched, with 4 ridges.

    [IMG]

    As you can see here, I've added rather a few ridges, but you get the basic idea. This is the outside.

    [IMG]

    This is my "removeable motherboard tray". the two arches are just for me to eyeball the dimensions of what's got to fit where.

    [IMG]

    Because of the size of the base, I have had to move the watercooling and the PSU down to a secondary case. The optical drives may end up here if i have restricted room.

    [IMG]

    Interior view, showing the home made res (missing barbs, soon to be fixed, with vortex design in base. Ideally there would be a vortex spinning in the reservoir.

    [IMG]

    And finally the family shot, all the components together to give you a rough idea of how its all going to fit together.

    C&C's always welcome.

    I like it:D Extra points if you post the crips.:hehe:
    -But...(oh, no, here he goes!) The bottom part should be like the top. -even wrap the clear fins around the bottom!
    -Or copy/flip the top, turn it 90 degrees, and mate it to the top, so it looks like a 'D' still, but inverted if you look from the side. (I thought I had gotten over my babble-itis.)

    Meant to buy a bag for photo's today. the bottom bit, holding psu and res and rad etc, will be changed slightly, so that the fins continue down the side of the box. mobo tray is going to slide into the arch. Will edit once I have managed this.

    The next one I cannot take credit for: the design is by tranc3 (where are you, dude?); I just cleaned the design up a little. But I think he should re-work it a bit and then submit it here --it has potential.
