Only picked up SU yesterday myself Joe but have you tried using the arc tool instead of the circle? also have a browse on you tube, there is loads of really good tuts on SU
Radiator-skis. The four 'eyes' are analog gages, but the lens part is also a fan control dial. (Thank Gozer I don't have to actually engineer that stuff. )

And here is a basic CAD drawing of the table, which I'm doing for my AS coursework, but without the central spans. Trust me. You'll like the outcome
