I never used violence against my rigs... Will all the money they cost me, I can't afford to hurt them.

...They know I can't... I can hear them laughing at me... Don't believe me then what do you call BSOD, then???

Probably my 20 gig IBM drive, it decided to corrupt up on me.

It met my best friend. An ax. A big one. It didn't survive

Otherwise, my old ugly Dell, I kicked it over a few times.

My friend on the other hand. His Terayon cable modem, he uhh.. kinda got angered by Rogers not giving him his connection so he put a screwdriver through it. He took his Dremel to teh on board graphics chip on his old HP as well..... Because it wouldn't disable so he could use his better video card.

Oh yeah, we also set fire to a computer because it wouldn't boot up properly. Always kept getting CPU instruction errors.... SO we uhh.. "overclocked" it:D

definatly the keyboard.. i generally manage to find all of the keys that flew off and put them back on, sure i may be missing a key or two for a week until i find it.. :p

and once, i had a hard drive (age ago) (40 meg) that i thought was dead, and i lost data, so i bashed it off a cement floor, i later found the molex for that drive was making a poor connection.. :(

I've never hurt any of my computers but I had this old 80mm fan that was threatening to go out and it would start making these awful loud whining noises that drove me nuts, so I would pound my fist on the top to make it shut up.

I used to bang the keyboard, hard, really hard, really really really freakin hard. I broke a couple in two, and busted the legs off of a couple of others, but since my father started listening to me about how to run the comps in the house, and since I got my own and not use his crapmachine, I have had no keyboard banging expierenceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer i;bvh dfklashgdf.bv .

    Sorry, darn e button sticks...

Other than that I use the scottish method for fixing strange noises, and abnormal things. I hit it, if it deont fix, I hit it again if it still isnt fixed it was broken in the first place. You would be surprised how well a well placed smack works on an unruly monitor with v and h hold problems.

My keyboard gets it with a closed fist. I like to also slam the mouse flat on the desk multiple times. My WORST moment was actually when I was first building my computer, they sent me the non-RAID version of my mobo, and then I got two successively incompatible RAID cards, which i stabbed with a screw driver like a knife murderer..meaning like 37 times :D :D :D

im a master of cut and paste school assignments.

meaning i take between 5 and 20 relavent websites..... copy them into one large document then edit it ...

gets me over 50% every time so im not bitching..

bit anyway .... i had just finnished an assignment at 2 am and hit save... and windows crashed......

i upped from my seat and planted a hard as i could knee slam into the front bezel, the slam warped my vidcard (cheap 4mb job) broke my soundcard and warped the metal on the psu (exactly like the one shown earlier) not to mention BENDING the metal plate the mobo screws onto ....

and then i rebooted and did it over again .... i finished it in time to get on the bus and go to school...

I have never actually hurt my rig......... cannae afford to, although it has crashed a lot and I kinda end up flapping my arms in a really stupid way screaming in quite a high pitch...... makes me laff anyway :D

Other than that tho, when individual parts "stop working" they get thrown across the room and put in *the pile*.... so far I have an old modem (******* decided to be invisible to windows, grr), a v. old soundcard, a working NIC and an ATi rage fury maxx, which in theory works but is a pile of pants.

    Quite fun tho

Oh, and of course there is always the *large* pile of internet trial cds I have for when I get bored and/or frustated, teeheehee :naughty:

In order to appease my computer teacher, the board sent him some extra supplies for their "funding" promise.

We got 7000 little triangle shaped PCB boards that did nothing.

And in a nother box we got hundreds of AOL trial CDs.

eight very violent people with a hatred of AOL that is only superceeded by MACs.

It took an entire day for the janitor to clean out the CD bits from teh room.

The worst I've really done is slap my pos monitor around. Little tap here, little tap there, no big deal. Just helps to relieve a bit o pressure.

Oh yeah, and cursing. Lots and lots of cursing.

My Armada Laptop at work keeps on flipping to the White screen(loses video connection to the screen), so I drop it on my desk a few times from about 10 inches up, Usually re-seats the video daughterboard, and makes everything work nicely again...

I have entirely destroyed a couple of Microsoft Ball mice though, Banged the hell out of them on the desk till none of the buttons worked anymore....

My Alpha Pager I swung around by the keeper cord (that you hook to your beltloop so you don't lose it) and slammed it on my desk after about the 49th page in a row... smashed it to bits.

Well to start with I had an old monitor I'd borrowed from my roommate for my first pc, an old amd 200. I'd get really mad at the lag when I tried to play Starcraft over our network and just beat the crap out of that monitor. Eventually this fried the red gun in it, so everything looked blue. Then I was mad about that and beat it some more until it would just flicker. Then I bought a new monitor and gave this one back to him, saying it just decided to quit.

Not wanting to smash up my new monitor, I took to banging my fist on my desk whenever anything would go wrong. It was especially fun to bang on my doodads box and watch screws and jumper switches fly everywhere. One day I got really po'd and smacked my mouse. HARD. Little chunks of it flew everywhere, and the keyboard drawer I had it sitting on got smashed out of its screws from underneath the desk and smacked right down on my knees. I leaped up in pain and held the keyboard over my head beating it and yelling. I now have a replacement keyboard, a monorail surplus board from a SUN system. Its like butter on my fingers.

Not wanting to smash my new keyboard, I decided now was the time to begin taking things out on my case. I used to kick it a lot...so much that I'd have to restart because I kept popping the cards out of their slots. The case cover decided to stop fitting and the psu now rattles and buzzes. Surprisingly, everything in that crappy old system still works. I still use it sometimes.

Finally, though, I had a 15gig Maxtor hdd go out. I'd removed it from my box and taken it to my fiancee's place at the time to back up her hdd before reformatting her stupid HP store version thing. Did the backup, restarted, and heard this sickening clunking sound coming from the hdd. I took it home and tried to get it to work, no luck.

I threw that stupid thing in the freezer to teach it a lesson. That was eight months ago. A week ago I was cleaning out the freezer and found it in there, completely covered in frost and ice.

I finished cleaning the freezer. When I was done, the hdd went right back in, where it'll remain for all eternity for all I care.

It was under warrantee anyway. Maxtor replaced it and I never sent this one in. They never called me on it, so I figured what the hell.

Let's see I've smashed a few keyboards and thrown a mouse across a room before and of course kicked my case LOADS of times when things haven't worked. But recently I 've toned done the level of violence since I discovered modding.

    Regularly:
    Hammer keyb with fists
Destroy floppies in the palm of my hand Incredible Hulk Style

    Once:
Ripped open case to get hold of dead hdd with all me mp3s on. Duly whipped out a screwdriver, unscrewed the casing, kept the power on, and destroyed the plates whilst they were spinning. Mum thought I was using an angle grinder, really quite noisy....

    Moral of story:
Always back up your mp3s as soon as you have over 200 hours worth of listening material :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:
