I stick to pounding fists on keyboard (Logitech is hella-durable) and pounding mice against the desk. That and swearing covers it. Speaking of hardware destruction one of the most moronic things I've ever done was this. I was doing a bit of juggling with 3 different hard drives. I had two screwed in, one resting on the case (yes, I know, stupid, but this was years ago before I knew any better). I went to turn the PC on, hit it a bit too hard and all the sudden I see the HD on my the case (Which was open of course) fall right onto the PCB side of the brand new HD that I had screwed in upside-down. Thankfully CompUSA was, and still is, a group of suckers. It did create a rather cool flash of sparks though
Hmm...I hit the wall a fair amount. One time I threw a pair of scissors at a door and jammed them in their real good, knife thrower stylee As far as computers go, the most common occurance would probably be smashing my mouse down on its ratpad. Now after 2 years of counterstrike frustration, its a testament to the build quality of MS that my intellimouse took that long to die...and then got replaced under warranty! Oh yeah, and my xbox joypad is regularly thrown at floors or walls...thank god for that lead breaker
I punched the front of my coolermaster like i used to do with my old case.... and yup.. you guessed it.. I bent the grille I got it straight thoug
I once cursed my computer. I did re-pent after, i mean it was totally uncalled for. well all know violence isnt the answer -ƒlamika
You obviously haven't been using computers long enough Also, MrHaz reminds me, I yes once punched my wall, as Windows had buggered up and corrupted the file I was working. The file happened to be a map ofr UT I was working on, great big map, abuot 2 weeks work (constant work) and it was lost. I turned, and *thump*put my fist INTO the wall. I unfortunately also managed to hit suppport beam. The hole went in about half an inch in the rough shape of my hand. A little note to those who haven't experience this: I would highly recommend you AVOID doing this. Spending 30 minutes with a pair of tweezers and a pin picking out bits of plaster, paint chips, and other bits of wall from your horribly torn up hand is not fun. While the actual punch didn't hurt, the picking at the wounds did. It also made it very hard to write the major ancinet civ test I had the next day. Boy do I ever pity my teacher..... She must've had a hell of a time trying to read my chicken scratch, let alone how bad it had become with my inability to move my hand thanks to the bandages......
i whould never do anything violent to my computer but when i was angry with my computer once i was going to punch the wall but i swivled while punching and smashed a hole into a window instead-now im more carefull
I wouldnt really think that to be true. its more a case of ive managed to control my anger.. people who react violently to any situation are weak in my opinion. if i saw a friend being attacked sure i would help them defend themselves, but to use violence on a computer when it hasnt done the right thing ??? -ƒlamika
...don't they just really p**s you off sometimes though? like yesterday, I threw my external modem at the ceiling (it's been thrown at a wall before) because it would'nt connect - not the modems fault i know, thats down to my crap ISP - I just got angry as I was sat for about 20mins trying to get this thing to connect. In the end, the modem ended up going skywards, smashing against the ceiling, and falling down to the ground - I've managed to break the outer casing, and smashed all but 2 of the LED's (there are 8 in total) - the PCB sits ontop of my case now...if I had a cam I'd take a pic
cant quite remember-not violent person but do remember this small fight i had once. in about year 8-a friend who i had known since year 4 (but werent tht close) went beserk (had really bad mood swings) and just went for me-giving me a couple of punches in the face-my anger just built up and i did the meanest left hook took him straight out -we work in the same place and get on (happy ending )
Just giving these people a call right now... NSPCC - National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Computers. .icecube
with my old hp, used to punch the tower or kick it sometimes, when it crashed every 2 hours or so but with my new pc*, there was no reason to hit it yet, it runs great oh and here in states, you get AOL cd in mail about once a month, first i used to throw them out, but then i started breaking them, hitting them with a hammer. but now i collect them and send them to www.nomoreaolcds.com *made by me
that on on windows 98, and Internet Explorer, Explorer and almost every game used to restart my pc after maybe a hour of play but i don't care now, that pc was a piece of ****, i will never again by a pc from the store
I usually curse mine heavily , followed by a slap or a kick. The best way to punish a PC has to be with a weapon though , as shown here: Sledge Hammer + Pakard Bell (Evil) Me and my good friend FL@MeS were modding together, when we came across an old Pakard Bell case, so decided to....well look at the link.......
Just keeping the thread alive... ...when did this start again?! Well, I don't really get mad at my computer that often... mainly because school and work take up all my free time.. anyway, I did have a computer back in High School, an Old HP I think... It may have even been older than me (the removable drives weighed about 40 lbs, and were the size of records, only they were solid metal, and there were about 4 of them I think... I can't remember though, could have been more like 6 or 7 for all I know) but basically yeah, when we finally got the parts out my friend and I took turns riding it it because it had wheels... But the fun part: When we couldn't get them to work at all, we found tools such as 20 lb sledge very useful in 'dissassembling' the best... managed to get it off the ground a few times while spinning it but it being a good 200 pounds itself, that was hard until we bashed out the main metal 'spine' of it. We ended up letting it go in a ball of fire via gasoline and a roman candle... Unfortunately, we didn't take any pictures...
I've killed some fans. Dropped a wire with 30 or so volts into a bowl of water plugged in the fan dropped fan in water took the spinner off I put in the dremel and spun it at 35k rpms until it was moving so much air it flew out of the dremel and traveled across the room before hitting a concrete wall and shattering.
I lose my temper badly with loads of PC's at work, but I hardly ever hit my machines as I wouldn't have the money to replace anything broken, saying that, I do slam my keyboard and/or mouse but that's about all. When it comes to work PC's however, in all the jobs I have worked I have probably destroyed about a dozen machines, wrecked a load of hard drives and cd-rom drives, thrown monitors off tables, used keyboards as baseball bats and hit PC's and monitors, hell, a few years ago when my temper was really bad I even threw mini-tower out onto the street I've also broken a few printers. But I don't think I have a bad temper, honest...
Peeps been resurrecting really old threads. Recently I kicked a printer to pieces cos it was messing up. It was really old anyway and I was going to bin it soon.
Ive used the keyboard to hit the tower and monitor with When Nic got angry, once she threw the moniotr on the floor, the other time she poured pollie filler through my top blow hole
