"You call that a spec-sheet, that ain't no stinkin specsheet....THIS is a spec-sheet" It will be dark at QuakeCon...I need a spec-sheet that would be visible under any lighting conditions. And in the sprit of Project Redwood 3.0 the wood treatment wasn't passed over. How it was made: ---------------------------------------------------------------- To make the spec-sheet a piece of veneer was glued to a sheet of acylic. ---------------------------------------------------------------- The spec-sheet was then laser-etched with the text and images needed. ---------------------------------------------------------------- The back of the acylic was painted silver to help reflect light. ---------------------------------------------------------------- After etching and painting the spec-sheet was cut out. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Note the incredible detail. ---------------------------------------------------------------- A fun bonus is that the etch into the acrylic preserves the wood grain above it. ---------------------------------------------------------------- The spec-sheet was then coated with envirotex lite. ---------------------------------------------------------------- The final sheet. This is the spec-sheet of the project as it was at QuakeCon 2005. (Before watercooling) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Since most LAN events are dark I wanted to backlight the specsheet. ---------------------------------------------------------------- The backlight was made with nothing more then two 12" cold cathodes, electrical tape, and aluminum tape. ---------------------------------------------------------------- The final result is a awsome specsheet. ---------------------------------------------------------------- If you are going to QuakeCon (This week!) in Dallas, TX make sure and come check out Project Redwood 3.0. To watch the progress in photos see my flickr stream here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/zapwizard/sets/625883/ The project log will be updated after QuakeCon.
I hereby dub thee, the mother of all spec sheets That is a genuinely awesome piece of PC art. And yet, despite the sheet, I just know some ignorant individual is going to ask what Redwood's specifications are...
Oh noes! a spelling error! "Matrix oribtal" ... time to make a new one lol edit: also, shouldn't "sensative" be "sensitive"?... unless thats the product name
http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=66918 You used ccfl's here, just curious what your limits are as to where you use em.
This is the only place I have used CCFL's actually. Dang, I still have them sitting here, I forgot who I owed them to. Ya still want em?
