If you love Apple up the ass you can F*** off right now. Sorry but it IS that simple. If you know something I don't (likely) or have a new angle..(again likely) then by all means do chip in.

Piracy is an issue right? Okay..then. Tell my WHY I have to go through some cocksucking ass just to download ONE free tune? Even after installing their draconian piece of ASS I STILL can't listen to the track because a pony somewhere, somehow needs to go poo. And these *******s want my money....really???

They can't even let me have a free'****in tune without infecting my PC with Maleware...AND EVEN THEN I can't listen to the song I wanted anyway....Are they completely ****ing mental? People buy music on itunes.....W.H.Y?????

Apple can have a **** OFF. All I wanted was a 'free' tune...it was labelled as free..I even installed the lame Appleware...for this one file. Do I have it???? NO. No I don't! This should be ****in illegal! And yes if I thought swearing more would help I ****ING WOULD!

This is why no one in our family owns a single Apple product.

    Apple are smug.

Im smug because I don't like Apple.

Anger. Very real frustration and anger. It might have been a bit real but I still feel those words. I stand by them, if it earns me a ban I will understand...but I wont take them back. And it is worth mentioning I didn't actually bypass the forum filters (which as you know it is piss easy to do).
    ---------------------------

Actually I think I know why there are two threads. I altered the name a few seconds after I made thread because it was inaccurate. I dunno why it posted twice rather than edit.

I hate Apple but still own their products. I'd rather have a daily rectal exam than a mac computer but I did love my ipod nano and LOVE my itouch.

    It's a love hate relationship :/

    Ah dear old iTunes.

I HATE iPods. If you walk on the street, everyone has the latest iPod's pr iPhone.. why? Because they don't freaking last over than a year. I passed through so many. And every time I call Apple, let's say it's under warranty, it's always "Sorry, this is not covered under the warranty". The warranty covers NOTHING. My last iPod was the iPod nano 1st Gen, The screen is white when turned on.. like white white.. nothing else appears, but I play music by going through menu I remembered. So I called Apple, being 1 month before the warranty finishes, I was really nice, and even tried 2 times with different people, and they said that (after passing through some diagnostics, including restore the iPod) the issue I was having was "not covered by Apple". Why? I asked. I need to be an Apple retailer to get the explanation. Well screw them! Beside the click wheel doesn't work out side in the winter, on any of my iPods. I found this nice MP3 player that came to Canada, called the Zune. I got the Zune 120.

Fantastic software, responsive, and easy to use. Has many features Apple happily copied and put in iTunes. Takes an iPod like moment to sync a music, but hey it works perfectly, and I can eject it at any time. No need to click a xillion time on the eject button, like on iTunes to get the iPod out. Anyway. It's been what, like 3 years I have my Zune 120, and dam it's good. I dropped it several time, still works, and yes it works perfectly even under the coolest days outside. The UI is amazing and intuitive. The sound quality far surpass iPod's and iPhone's, the headphones are also far better and more solid, and the wires never tangles up. Oh and battery life... sooooooo long. Like I charge it about one a month.

Seriously, not only the Zune was cheaper, but it was a truly excellent investment. I have discovered that people still have their first Zune, and works perfectly.

Microsoft had an iPod killer, and could have killed the iPod Touch with the Zune HD if they opened the platform up. But sadly, they didn't, and they barely advertise this excellent player. And now, it's seams that Microsoft pulled the plug. :(
The Zune has never frozen or caused any problem in any shape or form.

My brother has the Zune HD. This one is cool, if you plug the HDMI cable to the TV, you get a nice Media Center menu. And the remote, you can navigate it, play you HD movies or music. pretty cool.

If it was a media center extender when plugged-in (remember the Zune and Zune HD has a wireless G card inside, for wireless syncing, so the hardware is there) that would kick-ass! It would have been a perfect addition to Windows 7 streaming system in Windows Media Player 12. Just imagine, plug the Zune HD to the dock, which is attached to the TV, take the remote that comes with it, and play movies from your desktop computer to your TV. Oh well, one can only dream.

One thing, though. Is I wish the Zune marketplace would open up in Canada. So that I get unlimited music download, and 10 songs DRM free, high quality, free per month of my choice. And pay even less per month, if I get the year package. U.K has the service, cheaper I believe in the U.S, but you don't have the 10 free songs, which is STILL an excellent deal. You have enough songs to fill your Windows Phone 7 or Zune.

My first gen nano is still working and I used (and drop) that thing pretty much everyday. My itouch, isn't that old but I'm sure it will give me many years of service

I like the fact that my android has an app for (free) music, I dont even need to connect my phone to a computer.

Everytime I find myself admiring an apple product I just recall the fact that its like walking around with a toy and has one of those dollar feeders on it. I still think they are designed very nicely, I cant deny that fact. And what I cant understand is why no one else has made a look-a-like design. Seriously, apple throws some made in china crap (zoing! I know nearly everything IS made in china... ) in an aluminum body and it sells like gold. Damnit Motorola put your phones/devices in solid aluminum and be done with it already!

I have only downloaded one song through iTunes and to be honest I found it incredibly simple. It most certainly did not involve going through any particularly undesirable place as depicted in your post. ;)

It was a song they were offering for free at the time, and it was just a matter of clicking download and logging in.

And no, I'm not a raving apple fan (unless you mean the actual fruit, I LOVE apples), I have an Android.

Yep I tunes is a useless, steaming pile of decay which unfortunately resides on my PC because if I want to put songs on my shuffle (which is such a basic device, why can't I just drag and drop??) then I have to use it.

I used to own an iPod Touch and thought it was great but since I got my Desire I haven't even bothered to recharge my iPod. I really hate Apple's horrible little "ecosystem" and I can't stand it when loyalists try to defend it as being a good thing.

Worth noting: Winamp does pretty much everything I need it to in the iPod music thing. I don't have to use the bloated crap that iTunes is, and neither should you.

    Damn man cry-harder.

I have an iPod 160GB 5th Gen. Thats the only bit of Apple Tech I have because it's the only thing that stores all (all: 5% of music total) my tunes on the move! I don't use itunes, I use winamp to sync all my tunes across happily. Anything else is pointless.

I'm going to don my flame proof suit here, but how does everyone seem to make iTunes so difficult?

From my experience the worst issue I've ever had that was iTunes related, was actually a problem with my iPhone corrupting a database and thinking that it wasn't an iPhone. I fixed it with a little google-fu and a third party app to delete the database. Admittedly I shouldn't have to do that but it was still possible and just needed a little logic/common sense.

My 5th Gen video is still going strong after all these years, so maybe those that complain it doesn't work after a year simply abuse their stuff? I don't know!

    *cough cough*http://shuffle-db.sourceforge.net/*cough cough*

    ..And Winamp isn't bloated anymore?

Because it's cool to hate iTunes.

Although, I do believe it's a bag of arse on PC compared to the Mac version. It can't handle my playlist, and doesn't support FLAC. Somewhat frustrating.

    +1

I really don't understand how you can f*** iTunes up, it's sufficiently simple that small children can operate it.

Apart from not supporting FLAC - which is tedious, but Apple are pushing ALAC instead - I just don't see the issue?
