 With the help and opinions of you guys, which by the way THANKS!!! I have ordered my new pc and figured I would show you guys what I went with.

    CPU:
    Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 Allendale 1.8 2m shared L2 775 LGA (Amazing OC'er to 3.0)

    Ram:
    GeIL 2GB 2x1G chips DDR2 800 Dual Channel Kit 4-4-4 (Amazing OC'er)

    Motherboard:
EVGA 122-CK-NF67-A1 775 LGA Nforce 680i LT SLI ATX (Massive OC'er Options)

    Video Card:
    PNY VCG88GTS32XPG GeForce 8800GTS 320 MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI x16 HDCP (Also Amazing OC'er)

Now I still have 2 questions lol...

    1. With SLI can I mix and match cards in SLI? Ex: Put in a 2nd card that is different?

    2. Should I go Water Cooling with this rig or will I be ok with good fan cooling?

nice computer, a little weak on the CPU but it's still pretty good

    1. It can be a different brand than the first one

    2. Air cooling will be fine but if you want to go with water that would be fine too

I went with the e4300 because with OC'ing it out performs most of the big brothers. I thought the same thing when I was told about it the first time. It is faster than the 6xxx's most of them at least.

One more note on SLI, it has to have the same core, but the memory sizes can be different, butthey will only use the amount of memory as the lowest card, so no real reason to get a GTS 640 to go in SLI with what you have.

Edit: the E4300s doesn't outperform the E6***s(the E6300 excluded) in overclocking. Newer E4300s are not clocking as well as they used too.

oh :( still its a great performer for 114 I'm not looking for top of the line, just really fast lol. I have a p4 2.8 now so this is going to be a whole new world.

"TechSport put both E4300 and E6300 to overclocking test, and then compares, benchmarks and measures the CPUs performance in term of memory, CPU, synthetic 3D and real-world gaming performance, and concludes that “reaching 3.20GHz using either the E4300 or E6300 was quite easy and I believe most of these Core 2 Duo processors will at least reach this frequency. That said, we were able to push our E6300 to 3.50GHz and the E4300 to 3.47GHz. The advantages of the E4300 other than being slightly cheaper, is that the FSB (front side bus) does not need to be nearly as high to achieve the overclock. The advantage of this is that the DDR2 memory frequency can be lowered below 800MHz whereas the E6300 is forced to run DDR2-1000 memory. While we are recommending the E4300 to all those budget overclockers out there, we are not suggesting you rush out and order one right away. If you can wait a little longer until the E4300 is officially announced and more readily available, hopefully then prices will have fallen a bit, making the E4300 somewhat irresistible.”

but as gravemind said, newer e4300s are not seeing the same results as the earlier ones. i've heard that you'll have a hard time pushing the latest ones up past 2.5GHz. but then, i've also got a 4300 in the mail, so here's hoping that we get some good ones :D

Well mine is only a month old and it's doing 3ghz no problem on the stock hsf. I'm sure it'll go higher with better cooling.

the e4300 multi has more options, so you can push it higher with lower speed ram. but you dont need pc1000 to get 3.5 ghz on e6300, though it does help. you got a great chip there though, for the money. I would have gone 640mb, for the extra $35 or w/e it is. well worth the money imho. but still nice rig.

All depends on what mobo. Some ones are set so u can't lower the memory wenever u want to. If u have a new mobo with individual memory speed u can get over 600 mhz fsb with e6300. The e4300 will go as high as it can becaus no mobo or memory will limmit.

huh? every mobo has a memory divider of some type...they may not have the option to run linked/unlinked. but that has less to do with hitting good oc's than what i mentioned in my post. i think u may be getting a little off topic.

I'm pretty sure P965 has 1:1 as its lowest memory divider, that and the E4300 is far less likely to be mobo or ram limited, although it seems to have a much lower limit before you need to pump some voltage through it for overclock stability.

Overall, the best CPU to get is probably the 6320. The 4300 have not really been known for being the best overclockers, with very varied results, yet the 6320's are still psuhing the clock speeds like 3.6ghz.
