I've just thought - what with Hannah Sperritt keeping her trousers on in this season of Primeval, and now ITV loosing the F1 Rights, I have absolutely no reason to watch ITV ever again.
Maybe the way they missed the first 2 minutes of the second qualifying session because of the adverts didn't help, as for Martin moving as well could be a tricky one as he and Bernie don't get on to well, but I'm all for it maybe get Murry out of retirement to partner him again, but please leave James Allen. The BBC must use the Chain as there theme tune, just like old times.
Not long to go before we get some action at Sepang - but in the meantime, here's a question to mull over, as I did with my mate last night: Both Massa and Rakkinonen had engine problems at Melborne. Massa did not finish the race, so he will be able to change the engine without penalty for Sepang. However, Kimmi was classified as DNF, but was then bumped up to 8th after Rubens got DQ'd. Technically speaking, that means he finished the race... So if he changes his engine for the next race, wouldn't he have to face a 10 place drop on the grid? Hmmmm.....
I thought ANY engine change was 'free' the first time? - so they can choose to change the engine after a hard-on-engine race?
It's brilliant news, but I want them to poach the presenters - I've only ever watched F1 while it's on ITV, so I've fallen in love with the presenters/commentators. HD F1 with no adverts though, YES PLEASE!
My Dad will be so happy. He loved that song. edit - should have read the previous page Never mind, it's an awesome song
OMG they better bring that back!! I remember sitting with my Dad on the occasional Sunday watching it as a nipper
Lewis on top, Ferrari still looking fast (when they have fuel), Jense 4th Fastest... Where did that come from? Prac 1: http://www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,6613_3329607,00.html Prac 2: http://www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,6613_3329988,00.html Vid of Prac http://www.itv-f1.com/VideoHighlights.aspx Coultard's crash was pretty spectacular - and now they've got to prove that their suspension is up to snuff for the race: http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?id=42065 And to top it all off, it looks like it's going to be a wet quali!
Coulthard's crash was pretty impressive, but thoroughly unexpected - he just bounced over a kerb and suddenly both sides of his front suspension have exploded. Ferrari and McLaren are both pretty evenly matched it would seem, although there's always the question of fuel loads. After Kimi stopped, did he get out again? I quite enjoyed watching the Fri Practice, streaming it from itv.com and reading the live-timing info from f1.com was a good combo.
I must say itv are doing a pretty decent job with online content this year. The Ferraris are looking worryingly quick for this weekend, though I have a couple of friends in Malaysia at the moment and they say it's raining most of the time...could be an interesting weekend if it continues.
Cheers GOO. Was looking at the headline this morning and Hamster is tipped to present BBC coverage today, where it was Gaby whats-her-face yesterday.
Oh ffs... I love the TG boys, but I definately don't want them on my F1 coverage - stick to what you're good at boys. Oh, and Hammond would be a poor choice anyway - he hates F1...
Ferrari on top in Malaysia: http://www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,6613_3334201,00.html But oh dear - Hekki & Lewis have been dropped 5 places on the grid for impeding Heidfeld and Alonso in Q3. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7309337.stm That's going to make it interesting tomorrow.
"If you don't want to know who won the F1 in Malaysia, look away now..." But no. Thanks very much BBC, you just had to blurt it out, without any warning. Thanks, some people don't wake up at 6 to watch it live.
****ing annoying isn't it. I reckon I had at least 3 races ruined last season because of that. I go up early for this weekends race though mainly because it sucks having to avoid all news, tv and friends all day until the race is on, and 7am isn't too early.
Master class from Kimi. Shame for Lewis with the pit stop, but I was disappointed by the way he was unable to pass anyone after the initial lap. Maybe it's more an issue with the current aerodynamics of the car, but getting stuck behind a slower car shouldn't hold you up for lap after lap.
shame about hamiltons pit stop, he probably would have been on the podium otherwise. I wasnt too impressed with his driving untill the last 9-10 laps where he stormed up to trulli.
