looks good (not the grey though) doesnt seem to be anything that stands out as being 'different'. i was half expecting the picture to be a joke, with no testing under their belts its going to be interesting to see how they get on.

So, with a name like HRT, does that mean the cars need to be driven as if menopausal women are at the wheel?

It'll be carnage if it does... carnage! ;)

Clearly the best advert for a race so far. I don't know what's going on, but I do know it's awesome.

My mother said exactly that yesterday when I went round my parents house. She hopes she's in with a shot so she can meet Schumacher.

Not exactly current, but awesome. I wish Horizon wasn't so dumbed down nowadays.

edit: I should probably point out it continues in 7 parts.

And for some educational facts i found:
    McLaren's rear wing explained:

The rear of the new MP4-25 features various aerodynamic solutions that have been devised through wind-tunnel testing and on-track work. At first glance it's the car's long wheelbase, with its long and narrow gearbox, that catches the eye, but it's actually the airflow management at the back which is more unusual. Like the Red Bull, the exhaust exits have been moved towards the rear of the car (large red arrow), whilst air from the gearbox radiator, which has been cooled with the help of air carefully channelled through the airbox (blue arrow), is also utilised for aerodynamic benefit. Directed towards the top of the rear wing's lower section and the diffuser (small red arrows), it intentionally interferes with airflow over these parts at certain speeds, causing them to stall. Another change to the design of the MP4-25 is the unique central pillar (yellow area) on which the rear wing is mounted.

And then - Ferrari have a 3.5 degrees mounted engine to cater for double diffuser.

To create more room for a larger double diffuser, the F10 has its engine is mounted at a 3.5 degree angle (1). As a result, the exhaust pipe vents are located nearer the front of the car (2) than before, creating more space for a large chamber on the central diffuser. Interestingly there is a historical precedent for this approach - back in 1970, Arrows designer Tony Southgate mounted the engine of the sophisticated A2 at an angle of four degrees (bottom drawing).

can i swap from a software engineering degree to mechanical? I think understand it, basically more directed airflow over key parts = more downforce?

Now this looks like a fun game. Highlights include the first things that come to mind when he thinks of Bahrain and his comment on the new section

The first of Darren Heath's excellent F1 Big Pictures is up on the BBC site, these were always a highlight for me last year.

    Ooh yeah.

Right, I think it's time for a pre-season stab in the dark. :D

I predict: Close championship battle between both Ferrari's, both McLaren's, Vettel and maybe MercGP, probably with Lewis taking another title with his immense raw talent for car control.

Keeping with the pace set by Krikkit:

Team Standings at end of season:
    1. McLaren
    2. Red Bull
    3. Ferrari
    4. Mercedes GP

Very close together, all of them. Top 3 being off each other by 10 points or so between them.

As for drivers, I'd hazard a Lewis-Seb Vettel duel at the end. Lewis winning it.

To look at some Driver to driver speculations:
    Vetel/Webber? Vettel - any day
    Button/Hamilton? Lewis
    Schumacher/Rosberg? Schumacher
    Kovalainen/Trulli? Trulli - hopefully.
    Alonso/Massa? Massa

This elads me to thing that the "fast three" will be Hamilton, Seb Vettel and Big Schu, in that order.
Suprise of the year will be Adrian Sutil putting FI on the podium a couple of times, and becoming a regular points scorer.
Rookie of the year? Alguersuari - not a complete rookie, but i reckon his consistency is gonna go way up this year.
Let down of the year - Kovalainen. He's not fast, and in a new car.
Who do I recon resigns at the end of the season (or will not show on the grid next year)? Kovalainen, Massa, possibly Webber
First one to take a gravel trip? Trulli.

Really can't wait for this season. I was born in 92 so wasn't really around when Senna was still.... That means that as a young boy I naturally supported Schumacher :)p), should be good to see him race with lots of other amazing (and quite probably better ;)) drivers :D

I think that while the 4 main teams will be in the fight for the majority of the season it will end up Lewis vs Alonso in the last few races. Hopefully with Lewis taking it :)

I predict a that Alonso, Lewis and Vettel will be the top 3. I'm getting really excited about this years racing as the top drivers all have good teams behind them and with all the new rule changes its levelled the tech field a bit.

What i really do not want to see is one car/team streak off ahead and leave every one else trailing.

Agreed out of all the current drivers i think he still has alot to give and imo hasnt quite hit his peak yet.

I can see this being trulli, webber and possibly Kovalainens last season though, and Chandhoks first and last season.
