John Carter (The Disney version, not the Traci Lords one)

8/10 - A reasonable adaptation of the book "A Princess of Mars", with a just couple of tweaks.
Dejah Thoris is now not only a Princess, but head of the Helium Science Academy.
The Therns are shape-shifting aliens who digest the suffering of a dying world

Protip - If you buy the big soda when entering, rest assured that there is no after-credits scene so you can run to the restroom as soon as the credits begin rolling.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - 7/10

Whilst I'm pretty sure I was the youngest in the cinema (21), I still enjoyed it. No point did I find my mid wandering thinking about actors much younger (Scarlett Johansson, get in my bed). Some brilliant class actors in it, and there's some very funny moments in it as well.

    Definitely worth a watch.

    Safe House 7/10

Film was overall a very good thriller, a good perfromance by Denzel Washington, Ryan Reynolds was not to bad as he didnt speak too much.

The ending of the film was a bit of a let down, to an otherwise good movie, though £9 pounds to see a film is a rip off.

I just saw Safe House as well.

    Safe House - 8/10

In my opinion it is obligatory to see every Denzel Washington movie :D The biggest problem for me with this movie, is that we've seen it all before. I almost cringe when I hear CIA or FBI these days, it just seems to be the theme of every single action movie. Aside from that it was very good.

The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day - 7/10

I finally got around to watching this, and when it had finished I wondered why I had delayed for so long. Sure, it lacks some of the coolness of the first movie (hence 7/10 instead of 8/10), but it is still great fun. As far as cool action flicks goes this one certainly ticks all the boxes, and the barkeep with tourette's from the first movie makes his return with his signature line. I recommend it, and I hope they make another one - they certainly set the stage for it.

The Last House on the Left (2009) 6/10

Pretty average suspense/horror, extremely graphic and very little plot but watchable nevertheless.

How coincidental (a bit lke the premise behind the film). Just watched that with the other half lol I agree with your score and comment. Not a great deal was explained about, well anything to be honest. Lots of fake blood flying around. The rape scene was very similar to the one in I Spit On Your Grave, though less people were involved.

    Watched 3 films Saturday

    Two Headed Shark Attack
    ATM
    Immortals

First film, gotta love this dumb ass poop, staring Brooke Hogan and Carmen Elecktra
Second film, pretty decent, glad with don't have such booths in UK
Third film, expected little and was given awesomeness, looking forward to Henry Cavil as Superman

Harry Potter Marathon!! (over 2-3 weeks on the way to work).

    Harry Potter 1 - 7/10
    Harry Potter 2 - 7/10
    Harry Potter 3 - 8.5/10

    Currently watching 4.

Also I HATE Michael Gambon as Dumbledor. You probably don't notice watching them with years apart but back to back he treats the character like a slapstick jaunty old man.

IDS-IPS - NEED TO WATCH IT AGAIN! Forest Gump is such an incredible movie.

Completely agree, Richard Harris was FAR better as Dumbledore. Actually looked and sounded like I imagined Dumbledore to be.

    This Means War: 8/10

This action/romcom is actually suprisingly good for what I expected. There are a few hilarious jokes, a few rather crude ones and the occasional political joke. The acting is average, the plot's predictable, but I enjoyed it.

I just watched Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows 1 and 2 after all this time. I did enjoy them all. Have to agree with you on the casting choice of Dumbledore. Richard Harris was total class.

I noticed Michael Gambon is part of the cast in HBO's new series called Luck, along with Dustin Hoffman, Nick Nolte and others. Not especially interested in viewing it, however.

I can't imagine Richard Harris dueling with Voldemort or fighting off a cave full of zombies, too fragile or something.

Michael Gambon fits the whole 'eccentric gay super-wizard' character better IMO.
