THE OLD ONES WERE GOOD I don't know about the WC, but the Olympic Committee said athletes will be exempt from prosecution for Olympics specifically. That makes it all better then.
FTFY In other news:- 8/10 (I know it came out in 2010, but the DVD/BR was only released here this Monday) Some major changes were made regarding the Gamilas (the enemy), but all-in-all, a good version of the old 'toon.
It was great when I saw it, aged 9, when Kirk was a childhood hero of mine. Nowadays, meh. IanW speaks the truth.
Actually, "Star Trek: The Motionless Picture" bears similarities to the TOS episode "The Changeling".
minus 9? but gotta say its not a perfect film but its on my fav list. still not got round to watching the sequel as i dont think anything could follow on from the awsome court end scene
Drive ( 2011 ) 8.5/10 Art on film, though the pacing was maybe a little off at times I felt, and the plot kinda unraveled a little in order to get to where it really wanted to be in the first place. Still, brilliant and worth seeing asap if you haven't.
elysium 3/10 the three points come from the vfx and sharlto copley, the plot was retarded Spoiler the bad guy was bad just because, she had no real motivation aside from being mean
The Amazing Burt Wonderstone - 6/10 6/10 is a decent score from me (I think). I enjoyed the movie. I think it's pretty funny if you go in with low enough expectations. It has its moments that are good. Otherwise, it's what you would expect from your normal ensemble "comedy-comedy" or "dumb comedy" like Taladega Nights or Anchorman, except with Steve Carell as the star.
Sorry. I was referring more to the 1960s civil rights movement in the US, and also the gay rights movement as its happening in the US. Forgive me for that. The US is huge. I live in the 13th largest state. From where I live to the south-east corner of the state is the same distance as Washington DC to Chicago, IL, which is the same distance as London to Munich. It's easy to make fun of the US for only thinking about their own issues, but it's a huge country, and we're far away from so much of that. Things are definitely terrible in Russia. I watched it in 3D at the BFI IMAX in London and loved it. It seemed really stupid at first (and probably sort of is), but the more I look at the making of the film, read reviews from people who loved mech shows as a kid, read reviews from feminists, the more I am in love with it. It's pretty amazing.
Bicentennial Man 9/10 I like science fiction, I like the concept of artificial intelligence, I like Robin Williams as an actor and comedian, and to top it off it doesn't fall into the stereotypical evil robot formulae how the hell have i only just seen this 14 years after it was made?!
I'd give it a bog average 5/10. I don't think it was bad, but it was nowhere near as clever as it tried to make out. I liked Mark Ruffalo and Woody Harrelson in it. Isla Fisher was overacting a little too much. Jessie Eisenberg didn't suit the group leader role for me, but that could be a hold over of Zombieland, where his character wasn't the equal to Harrelson's. I really didn't care that much about the other guy, and I felt like Freeman phoned it in, but I could watch that French girl all day long.
now you seem 7/10 not as briliant as peeps say but enjoyed it. shame harleson didn't get much more screen time tho. white men cant jump, 9/10 was on tv not long ago and recorded it and watched it last night, still brilliantly funny hard to believe its 20 years old now,
I'd agree with that mainly, was definitely disappointed. Spoiler The big 'surprise' at the end, I didn't see it coming, but when it happened I wasn't amazed, just thought, oh, it's him, nothing overly clever, was hoping to see flashbacks of how he had manipulated various events whilst there, but all we saw was him in the hoody at the beginning... I thought Freeman and Caine were good, the rest weren't bad either, just didn't think the story was that good.
