    Pacific Rim - 8/10
    Pretty entertaining stuff!

    Warrior - 9/10
Excellent! You think it's all given away in the trailer but what makes the film is the back story and the characters and relationships. Very pleasantly surprised how much i was drawn into this!

    Thor - 3/10

im not normally one for comic book films but this was just ****ing awful, obvious "PG" editing, poor cuts and a weak ass supporting cast just made me turn it off 70% through. i need to watch something good to get it out of my system.

Wait, they really made this? I thought it was just a piss-take parody of Cars the internet dreamed up.

    Fast & Furious 6

    7/10

Laws of physics don't apply in these movies, worlds longest runway ( there's a demote somewhere.. ), some scenes just could have done with shortening, and a few too many 'lol, wut' moments. Still, fast cars, awesome stunts, nice ladies, wicked fight scenes, and those flip-cars. Enjoyable for what it is, and I got chills a few times for obvious reasons.

F&F7 with Jason Statham could potentially be interesting, but with things how they are ( only half shot ), it's all up in the air...

Wow it was even THIS YEARS movie. What a catastrophic failure it must have been.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire 8/10

They stay very close to the books which is nice but I was disappointed by a few changes.

Even the list of voice actor kinda screams 'we couldn't be arsed'...

    A Scanner Darkly

Had to turn it off after 20 minutes/10

I've been looking forward to seeing this for years, seeing as it has a big cult following. Total crap which made me want to fall asleep- the synopsis makes it sound like an interesting psychological journey ( I'm all for mind-f*ckery type films.. ), but it really was just inane twaddle- the art style ( animation over film ) is interesting but that's about it.

    How to Train your Dragon

    9/10

Absolutely loved this. Only thing that let it down a bit was the exposition being a little... disjointed, or the interaction of the characters perhaps- something that often happens in shorter films and animations as the plot unfolds at a brisk pace. But overall, totally worth seeing- who ever designed toothless knows a thing or two about creature design & aesthetics. Looking forward to next years sequel...

    Because Keanu. :duh:
Don't forget it's in its 2nd season of TV (1st half of 1st is on DVD) - with the original voice cast throughout! :thumb:

Correction: Machete Kills Again ...In Space
    Cheesy name full of win.

I LOVED Machete Kills. I think Rodrigez perfected the art of making films like that.

It was, but it was done quite deliberately.
It's also a bit more clumsy than the second one, so MAYBE the second one could trigger more feel-ggod.
Other movies along the same or similar lines (varying degrees of good):
    Death proof (Tarantino)
Planet Terror (Rodrigez - probably the best one in this lot)
Hobo with a Shotgun (somewhat weaker than the others here)
Bitchslap (pure exploitation, lesbian, storyline that makes no sense, but it matches up in cheese and fun)
Repo the genetic opera (the trashy, musical basis for "Repo Men" - I liked this quite a lot more than Repo Men.)

In some ways, Django Unchained and From Dusk Til Dawn fit in the same category as well, though they are a lot more concise and have more general appeal.

Yeah, might get both and give them a go then!

I enjoyed Death Proof and Planet Terror (the former is one of my favourite films: Kurt Russel, a bunch of hotties, and a load of V8's)

A warning about REPO! though, it contains Paris Hilton... singing... [though remarkably she's not the worst singer]

    No but her character is
a spoiled rich kid addicted to plastic surgery and painkillers
, and there is a scene at the end where
    her face falls off

Plus, as I said, she is not the worst offender in the 'can't sing/act' dept.
