I actually just noticed that was Kristin Kreuk in that role (who looks identical to Kunis) oh, well....lets just say it's Meg Griffin gettin' it on....
The A-Team 5/10 Admittedly, I never was an A-Team fan. What I do know is that I enjoyed Murdock in the film a whole lot, Mr T makes the better BA, and Liam Neeson is not particularly convincing as Hanibal Smith. the fact that the action sequences are all jumbled up with the planning-of-the-action sequences was fun the first time they did it, and then served no purpose other than to annoy. Salt 7/10 Better than a lot of other more recent films, but with a plot that was predictable the moment the first even occurs. Definitely not earth-shattering, but entertaining in a weird "24" or "Bourne..." way. Except for Angeline Jolie looking more and more like a really sick person... especially in the scenes where she's wearing a beanie, she looks like a child that escaped from the cancer patients ward. Not cool.
Yup... I found A-Team to be quite crap, in fact. Not ZOMG-Unwatchable, but not nearly good. Sortof "ah well - I'll just doze off and miss another crappy action scene that has no real value, or makes much sense." I watch 24 in the same way... Salt at least had me interested due to the fact that I predicted the storyline so early on... Spoiler alert: Spoiler ZOMG - don't tell me the guy protecting her is ALSO a russian sleeper agent, and she's really working FOR the americans... at least that way I could go "aha!!! told you so"... The A-Team was just a snooze fest. Sure... there was loads of action, but the action was not particularly well done, nor excessive, nor memorable. It was just there...
Red: 2010 - OMG this film is great. The Vice Presidents acting is shocking to say the least, but John Malcovich (sp?) plays an excellent part and his acting is spot on. I've watched this 3 times already. 9.8/10 A-Team - Quite liked it tbh, however, for a name like the "a-team" i expected more, however, the film is most definitely watchable. 8/10 Burn-E - Mini film based around Wall-E. Short story in relation to another robot repairer. For what it is i give it 8.5/10 as its executed well and easy to get into if you have seen Wall-E.
Liam Neeson does seem to have a bad agent, doesn't he? There's not much class in either Clash-of-the-titans nor The-A-team. (Though the A-Team is supposed to be cheesy so it's allright)
Its the final set peice in the LA docks that destroys the A-Team for me. The rest of the film was an enjoyable no brainer but the ending is just such a bad concept its amaing ti made it into the film at all. The CGI is also appalling at the end and it really looks like they ran out of time and money.
Micmacs 6/10 Okay, it's a Jean Pierre Jeunet film (the director of "city of lost children" "Delicatessen" "Alien resurrection" and of course "Amelie") so you'd expect something...weird. Couple that with Danny Boon (welcome-to-the-land-of-ch-tis) youd expect something weird AND hilariously funny. And it just...isn't good enough. Characters are great (and strange) as always with Jeunet, but the movie doesn't really get up to speed. High Lane 4/10 Tries to be a mixture of Cliffhanger and Saw and doesn't reach either.
Red 7/10 Entertaining. IMDB tells it's "action, comedy, crime" and that's exactly right. Doesn't take itself too seriously, entertaining to watch. Liked it.
Did you find Micmacs was just trying too hard to be different and quirky? Jean Pierre works best when he applies those qualities to relateable life situations, which made Amelie so fantastic.
The Expendables 6.8/10 Not quite a 7, but if brainless action is what you're after, it's well executed here. Sure, the plot is cheap, the acting even more so, the roles are crap. but it's not about that. There's gun-porn, and then there's the expendables... I am sure Stallone invented the genre of "Explosion porn" in the last 30 minutes of the movie. Quirky lines, almost intelligent dialog at times (with play on various peoples off-screen lives at times) and balls-to-the-wall action make this movie worth seeing... pure cheese.
Weird. I took the time to read real quick and didn't notice anyone who mentioned it. my bad ! edit: oh yeah I guess I didn't expect Viper to correct himself
No, in my opinion the movie just never really got going, I liked the quirky characters though, and it had some great moments, it's just that the tempo was somehow...wrong. Black Dynamite 2/10 1 point...for truthfully reproducing film-quality of the early seventies. 2nd point...for costumes and sets. The rest, not funny or overdone enough too be a persiflage, and no film of it's own. It's downright bad, and not in a it's-so-bad-it's-good-again way. I guess if you know Shaft (not the Samuel Jackson one, the old one) by heart, you might find it slightly entertaining.
i expected the hype (in my circles) to subdue it for me, but i was suitably won over. it surpassed its primary precursor in all respects.
