I don't think it's a bad thing tbh. If I were an actor I'd be delighted. Closest thing you'll ever get to immortality really.
If you were a well-known actor you might, if you were a less-well known or an up and coming less so... cos who's gonna hire you if they can pull a CGI star name out of their ass.
This whole using CGI to recreate an actor, it'll make the oscars awkward, lots of sudden posthumous awards.
Knives Out - 10/10 It's like Clue, but if it grew up and was filmed well. There's so much that's so good about this movie. It's somehow self-aware of it's campy elements, but then writes them into the story in a believable way that allows the movie to still be sincere. I absolutely loved it. Do NOT watch a trailer first. Go in blind.
Furie 7/10 wasnt really expecting much from this but for foreign netflix movie its pretty good and the action keeps up the pace fairly well. its like taken with a bit john wick thrown in. Final Space season 2. 8/10 no where near as good as the first season as gary is a bit less goofy Spoiler the urine deathmatch was pretty gunny
Jumanji - The Next Level 7/10 Funny, that's for sure. Definitely on par with Welcome To The Jungle. Spoiler The Danny DeVito impersonations were fantastic, too. I particularly enjoyed Awkwafina's impersonation. That had me in stitches every time she spoke.
Starwars - The Rise of Skywalker Spoiler: Score 7 / 10 Spoiler: Review The story felt rushed with no build up or time to reflect on big moments. When significant moments happened sometimes it just jumped to the next scene with no time to reflect on what just happened. THe first half is essentially chasing object/person A then B then C then D. Second half was stronger but lacked punch. Ultimately it looks pretty, has some fan service moments but will not be remembered beyond this year.
Starwars - A new hope: 9/10 Watched with my 6 year old daugther for her first time (on the home projector). She enjoyed it and I remembered why I love Star Wars. First time I've bothered watching it on a big screen - the old effects hold up remarkably well except for the special edition additions which have aged terribly.
The "despecialised" editions are different. The idea is to get them as close as possible to the original theatrical release using the best sources available, whether it's DVD, Blu-Ray, Laserdisc, VHS, film reels, etc. They've done a damn fine job with it if you ask me.
