It's a good movie to watch in french, tbh. It just feels more 'authentic' that way

The day the Earth stood still ( 2008 )

    6.5/10

'Twas a strange one really. Starts off okay but then seems to loose pace and direction a bit, then finds it again, then the ending is kinda meh. Not Keanu's best film it's safe to say, kinda take it or leave it and only worth seeing for the effects or if you were curious about the remake vs original..

Not great if you're not from a French speaking region.

Tangled, Disneys latest film. Love it sooo much the animation is just beautiful one of there finest productions to date.

Glen keane Disneys lengendary hand drawn animator supervised the animation to make sure the computer animators captured that hand drawn 'feel'.

^ I felt it was a cross between all their other films. Aladdin, etc etc. Dunno. Sure it was nice, but jeez they don't ever come up with something new do they?

Rewatched Law Abiding Citizen last night,
9/10, I think it's a brilliant film, and I think I was on Clyde's side all the way to the end.
    Highly recommend it.

Just re-watched Gladiator and Finally popped in Wall-E.

Wall-E is a brilliant movie on so many fronts. As for Gladiator, it's good but it can get tiring.

Thor. 7-8/10. It was entertaining but I have no more feeling than that. DONT WATCH IT IN 3D. It's a blurry fuzz-fest. I had no choice :(

Rubber. Started out as a 9/10 but quickly dropped to 6/10. The director/writer clearly had a vision that only lasted 15-20 minutes.

    The Mechanic - 5/10

Exactly as average action film as they can ever be. Absolutely no surprises whatsoever, but I guess it's OK as long as there are guns and explosions. Useless for my liking.

    The Tourist 7/10
Admittedly, two out of four people watching kept going: where's the action, when does it speed up?
I liked seeing a film with a slower speed, where the story isn't carried by action. Probably because it's an exception nowadays.

    Huh...well everyone his taste. ;)
I thought the plot-dialogue-jokes and references were....bland at best, sucked dry at worst.
The technical side (animation) was as good as was to be expected after this much practice.

    Fast Five - 5/10

Usual fast and the furious bollocks mixed with oceans 11 style heist movie. The problem is the writer has not got the intelligence to write a heist movie so it falls flat on its face with so many plot holes it must whistle in the wind. Fugitives on the run and doing any job going to get money to survive can call up and endless supply of, cars, computers and a bank vault when needed? Vin Diesel manages the remarkable feat of making Paul Walker look like he can act and has managed to extend his own acting ability from ****ing awful to awful. He can now do three expressions, smug cock, angry cock and finally his latest, constipated cock.

It has some good action sequences but you could fast forward between them and not miss anything worth watching.

Yeah but the ending credits were awesome in 3D. That movie was gash and awesome in equal amounts.

Managed to catch up with some films lately:

The Wrestler 8/10 - Brilliant acting by Mickey Rourke, no wonder he got nominated for an Oscar. The tale of "The Ram" is a poignant, if not pitiful one and Rourke sold it like a pro.
Ip Man 2 8/10 - Not as good as the first one, but very good nonetheless. Some great action sequences, with the one between Yen and Hung my favourite in particular.
Despicable Me 7/10 - Quite watchable, especially with Steve Carrell at the helm. Funny in places, with a bit of charm here and there.
Bolt 7/10 - Another enjoyable animated film, if not a little clichéd in the story department.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader 6/10 - Average at best, but by no means bad. I've never found Narnia films to be that engrossing though, maybe because I've never read the books I guess. Nice CG work though.

I found the movies to be worse after watching the books

African Cats- Disney kids movie about lions and Cheetas... narrated by Samuel L. Jackson :duh: All I could hear through the whole movie was "Does He look like a b*tch", and "Motherf*cking snakes on my motherf*cking plane".... But I think that was because my friend sitting behind me was actually saying those lines through the whole movie :duh::duh::duh::duh::rolleyes:

    The Troll Hunter - 8/10

Genuinely surprised how good this really is, feels like a nature documentary with a mockumentary twist.

It's a really cracking film, thoughtful, exciting, really great.

    I'd really recommend it.

On the mockumentary/rockumentary note, I finally got around to This Is Spinal Tap. The dry humor had me busting. 9/10

Useless (but awesome) bit of info. The IMDB rating of 'This Is Spinal Tap' is out of 11 not 10 ;)

IMDB - This Is Spinal Tap

    Fast Five 4/10

Ugh, Awful. Was hoping for a proper Fast+Furious romp with cars galore etc. but it's mainly a huge game of oneupmanship between the male roles, badly. If you genuinely liked the first couple don't even bother. I gave it 4 but 2 of those were for the odd bit of eye candy feminine wise and 2 for the car eye candy.

Big spoiler alert if you dont want the end ruined
They even deliberately plug yet another movie after credits showing FBI files with a photo of Letty pulling a heist somewhere, somehow with the line "Do you believe in ghosts?"

    Narnia - Voyage -blah
    5/10
They went downhill after the first one.

    The Fourth Kind
    3/10
So Milla Jovovich and Blair witch cameras. Pretend it's a real story, and have the missus's sister going all apes*** about something. Distinctly blah, with filming not happening in the place where this all "happened".
