Just to note we've had some reports of autobalancer failing in Squad Deathmatch mode. What we might need to do is set Squad Rush as 8v8 and go to conquest rather than squad deathmatch at a minimum of 12 players. Think that would work well. Might need to look at autobalancer though - not sure why intra-round balancing isn't working on SQDM.
Yeah, had one guy killing me from underneath the map once and couldn't do anything about it - he could shoot everyone else, but noone could shoot him! It's a DICE issue though, they haven't made their maps as robust as they could be when it comes to glitching.
With around 16 players it's nice to play rush, and conquest works on Op Metro and Demavend Peak with this amount of players. Might make a good transition from sq rush to the full beans.
great idea. we can do something like this: 0 to 12: SQrush server size 16 players 12 to 24: Conquest normal with suitable maps server size 32 players 24 to 32: Conquest Large so Demavent Peak and Op Metro for Conquest normal, any other suitable Conquest normal small-ish maps for around 16 players?
you've not been on lately, if you want to be admin, you have to be as dedicated as Draca. ~18 players might make it acceptable. we'll give it a try. Peak is already in the full-server-rotation as full Rush. Kharg Island conquest large is in the full rotation, and i agree it's a brilliant map. any good maps/gamemode for ~18 players? i may just add all standard conquest into this play list.
I was thinking: 0 - 12: Squad Rush 0-16 12 - 24: Rush + conquest on Metro/Demavend Peak 16-32 24 - 32: The normal stuff - conquest/conquest large I was playing it on a 16 player server, none of the things I've seen in videos happened. Very dynamic and successful mounts on the ticket hall were more than possible. It's a little Billy the Kid in areas, but for us two - there is a bit of space for us to get tactical . And I figure the tunnels in Demavend Peak are the same. With the fewer players, spawn locks at chokes points didn't/shouldn't occur. Rush is also a tight game mode, as you are only ever active in a single area of the map. Thats why I think when a couple of months ago you tried it at 32 players, it wasn't popular. It was the equivalent of conquest large 32p, and everyone fighting over a single flag. If DICE made Metro in a dough-nut shape (with an overland route), then I think it would have worked properly.
Sure ok, I suppose if there aren't too many people teams might be able to break through some of the choke points.
Ive finally nailed why it was black screening (well touch wood its been fine!) found some Nvidia drivers hiding in the system. killed them off and its been stable ever since. Now i just need this PSU RMA to hurry up and im sorted!
plugin update: Adaptive server size: ensures SQ rush is only 16 players. and also makes battlelog show 24 players max to make the server show on people's 5-10 filter. Kill rate checker: if you kill 10 times within 1 minute, you are flagged as suspicious, get 5 suspicious marks and you will be kicked for suspected cheating. (even in a chopper, it's hard to do 10 kills within a minute!) votekick plugin: allows player to vote kick, "!vote PlayerName [Reason]" to start, "!vote yes/no" to vote. Squad enforcer: if anyone is not in a squad, puts them in the next almost full squad. won't apply on map load unfortunately, only applies on player's first death. True balancer: when team difference is larger than 2, switch the last joining player to the other side. Insane balancer: balances the team at end of a map (meaning won't shuffle between Rush rounds), based on previous round score. Ultimate Map manager: changes map and mode according to number of players: -0 to 12: all squad rush -12 to 22: conquest large infantry heavy maps, or tight rush maps, or conquest small version of a few maps (Teheran highway 3 flags, Wake Island 3 flags) -22 to 32: conquest large, err, large maps, a few fan favourite rush maps for variety (eg Op Metro)
Anyone else getting "A referral was returned from the server" today. Ive checked my system time and certificate. Is the server time off at all?
