My flatmate went to school with Tom Daley as well; he confirms he is an annoying little uphimself ****.
Friend of mine attended and tried to get an autograph, Daley apparently went out of his way to snub her, I've heard quite a few time that he's a massive cock. Still doesn't deserve the deaths threats and rubbish about this dad though.
He's young still and has been very successful, so I'm tempted to give him the benefit of the doubt. But he still comes across as an arrogant **** pretending to be humble in most of the coverage I've seen of him.
I am getting very fed up and annoyed over all this twitter BS. Daley et all put them selves on twitter and into a domain where they can get real time feedback from the general public. You knowingly put yourself in that position so why cry butt hurt when it doesn't go the way you want it to? The police getting involved is just a massive waste of money and police time too imo.
GASP. You take that back! Seriously though, I agree. It's Twitter. Look at the people who are far more famous than he is, that take a beating on a regular basis. Media frenzy, because "not one of our British athletes!" "Light the torches!"
When your in the public eye you should expect to get some criticism occasionally, theres a very small gap between criticism and abuse, theres nothing wrong with constructive criticism so long as it doesnt explode into abuse. I have not seen the twitter posts for this so cannot comment on that
Did anyone watch the US - Turkey basketball game last night? Those US guys were incredible, playing the smoothest basketball I've ever seen. The third quarter just seemed like a inter-team dunk competition.
Agree that its against the spirit of the Olympics, but it happens all the time in football - Early rounds of FA cup, Champions league, even group stages of world cup. To lesser extents, "better" players are subbed when the team are going on to win easily to prevent injury/save energy. Unless teams/players are given an "incentive" to win (for some, playing for your country and pride is clearly not enough!?), I can also understand the logic. Simple fix - scrap group stages and just play it knockout style.
The stroke of the GB Eight, Louloudis, who just won a bronze medal, was in a lower boat than I was when we were 15. I suddenly feel somewhat useless.
I did, I was there! Great game, never seen one before... nipped in for a fiver after watching the Water Polo earlier in the evening, which was also brilliant - oh how it takes me back to 2002!
You lucky devil, but you've never seen a basketball game before? That must have been a great way to start! And how'd you get it for a fiver? I'm seeing Tunisia v France and Russia v Spain on Saturday morning, all of which are good teams.
Currently in a Cardiff pub killing time with my boy before the football starts. Mexico vs Switzerland then GB vs Uruguay. Everyone is very friendly and cheerful, great stuff. Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk 2
