    It seems so slow-paced. Like the video is running at half-speed or something. It doesn't look like a very fun game.

    Yeah, it looks dodgy and definatley was before the game was actually polished/finalised, having said that wasnt Q1 1995 and the final release of HL1 1999?

    I think HL did indeed come out in novemeber of 97....or sometime during 98 anyway. That trailer does seem odd though...slow, and not nearly as cool as the game was/is. Oddly enough, if you go back and play it, its still an awesome game.

    Am I seeing things or is was that the white house or some military facility that gordon was enterning before killing a Guard that you can clearly see M.P. on his helmet? Must of been a segment they cut out.

    Looks to me like its running on the original quake engine, which they then modified into the Half-Life engine.

    yah the run speed is alright it is just the animations that are playing out really slow (I'm guessing the average 95 computer couldn't play Half life at a decent frame rate)

    anyone have a linky to the original MAc-world Halo videos?

    I think I am the only person who bought Half Life, but never played it. I played the first bit, probably 10 minutes in, until you get to the lift, and got too scared, and never went back to it. Ha ha! I'm such a wimp..

    I think I'm the only person who bought Half-Life and didn't like it. I forced myself to finish it a few weeks before HL2 came out.

    Highly overrated but the sequel is superb.

    I dont remember a lot of what was in the trailer, its been a while. I guess that for the time it was half decent.

    HL1 didn't bother me, but the zombies in the HL2 demo took some getting used to, especially when on fire. Still haven't gotten around to actually buying and playing HL2, but it's in the budget for this year somewhere. I will say after the HL2 demo, I'm NOT even trying F.E.A.R.

    Well, maybe the demo.

    At some point you have to ask when is more realism in FPS too much

    remember if u go back and play it now u'll be using the famous patch 10 which completely overhaulded how the game looked.

    it was out by chrismas 97 as i got one of the first american copies and my WON ID was only 5 digits long :)

    damn i wish i could finsh HL1, there's an error where I can't use the jet pack so I'm stuck somewhere in xen so I'm stuck!

    I have a feeling that the video has deliberately been slowed down? It definetely plays quite fast on my comp anyway...

    HL was a funass game and so is HL2 let's just hope the third lives up to the hype..

    those fast zombies scared the crap out of me too :|
    everything alright then theres a scutteling noise and a second later your been molested. Made it fun though :D
