    lmao sounds just like me

i played until the reactor blows up, then your fighting off some zombies (somehow i never found the crowbar :duh: )

never played it after then, then my dad lost the disc, so i cant play it (unless i go and buy it again  )

HL2 was good, but yeh those fast zombies are scary

i thought it was a shame that zombies were basically gone in HL2 after the whole ravensholme bit, and after that it was more about the combine

    good fun though :)

man it's been a long time since i finished hl. Scary, what are u guys on about. I don't remember even a second of remote scaryness. Ah well each to their own.

That trailer looks utter c**p. was alot better when it released. Don't think i played it with patch 10, or any patches.

I will still happily say that HL1 is the best pc game ever and I still play it -played through that, opposing and blue shift over the christmas hols in fact.

I wouldn't say that any part of HL1 was scary although there was a lot of tension when you could hear the grunts talking over their radios.

HL2 was a good game but it was waaay too short, even taking my time I got through it in less than half the time it took me play HL1. This new episode they're releasing is estimated to only take 7 hours for $20 -what a rip off!

As pointed out elsewhere, the EA X-Box shooter Black, thats out recently apparently costs $40 and has about 6 hours in it, 7 hours for $20 is decent in comparison surely.

The thing is, these days people demand higher poly counts, higher res textures, more intricate levels than square corridors with the occasional monster/ammo/health plonked down and so on and so forth, and it all adds to the cost of developing a game.

For instance the gadget show visited the guys who made ghost recon: advanced warfighter, apparently they said they developed there first game with hrm was it 30 people ? while on the most recent one the team was 150 strong. Thats gotta increase the costs somewhat.

yeh games arent that cheap to make

sure it sucks they cost so much, but the expenses to make them are pretty high

GRAW looks pretty good, and i wouldnt be suprised if the team was that big

though i wonder how they do it, cos really you need an engine to run the game on, and then maps after that

thats what every game really is, but u can only do 1 after the other
