It's something I cobbled together with Samurize. It is a seriously cool piece of software, fully configurable, that will show you all sorts of stats. Will talk to MBM and Speedfan, and you can download weather, news and internet plugins, visualisations, you name it, it's got it. Designing a config is a cinch --it has a WYSIWYG interface.

The top left half circle shows the two CPU temps, and system temp. The white needle indicates coolant flow. To the right is some iPulse-type eyecandy. The rest is harddisks. This is just something experimental I knocked up, and will expand on. Gives me something to do while I allow my bank account to recover to finish off Metaversa.

nice config. Do you not find that Samurize uses a lot of processor time though?

(but the standard blue theme!? nexxo has more style than that!)

 

The background is one of Apple's original wallpapers. God knows where I got those from... I can't find the link anymore.

Samurize only uses 0.78% CPU time as far as I can establish.

I will get around to Windowblinds or something eventually... when I find something I really like.

 

I sometimes use windowsblinds and desktopx and all the cool goodies, but by time im done making a cool theme, i end up reformatting do to some unforseen problem

Stardocks products are resource hogs. I plopped down $50 and bought the entire lineup. Handy, but god, too laggy for me on this pitiful machine.

 

Yea i had the same thing. I had almost 40 DesktopX widgets on my screen, and it would take my computer 9 minutes to boot.

 

I've found (testing this morning) that Samurize uses considerably more if you have a winamp plugin config.
perhaps it's my bad setup though.

 

With a dual Opteron 250, CPU speed/resources are not exactly a big issue...
