    If you're running Fedora 10 or Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) it's pretty easy via XrandR, but I generally prefer the static xorg.conf approach (the file is located in /etc/X11 and basically houses all your X configuration settings - make sure you back it up before you edit it!) - have a Google around for Xorg.conf files for your graphics driver (I'm using the RadeonHD driver on a HD4670).

    I Know! It's been driving me nuts since the last Vista upgrade and the last Compaq/HP motherboard upgrade.

    Drives me nuts. Can't see anything. I'm elebenty hundred years old and this SUCKS!
