I'll admit, I don't really get scantily-clad desktops either. I can't see the appeal and to me they scream 'this pc belongs to a lonely man'.

Having said that, I think many if your points go way too far. What makes you think that these people are not 'much more' than just hot or 'not very interesting'? What if they're actually really nice?

And I don't know of any girlfriends that would find a bit of eye candy an issue. I just found a pic of a hot redhead and asked, seems my gf agrees that she's hot and wouldn't mind her on a desktop. Like me however, she can't see why anyone would. I don't think anyone would have to be 'pretty tolerant' to make an issue of a wallpaper. If that's the case then our other halves are going to need to stop reading magazines, watching porn and watching tv too.

I wrote this to point out that it's not a big issue, and it seems my reply also makes it seem like a big issue! Have some desktops, bit!

Like I said, a picture of a pretty girl only gets on my desktop if that pretty girl is someone I really admire for something or anything other than just being pretty. I never put random hot girls on my desktop because I don't see the point.

The fire pit thing is actually a gas deposit burning in Turkmenistan (Or so I'm led to believe) near Darvaza. A few places report it as being in Uzbekistan, but I prefer to believe the ol' Google map coordinates >.>

I'm using the Omnimo 2 skin for Rainmeter. It took quite a lot of work to get it to look how I wanted, but that was mainly because I hadn't used Rainmeter before. I am also using Omnimo for CDArtDisplay for the Album Art.

The background is part of the Surreal Territory theme from Microsoft (link).

I'm probably going to have to rethink the top bit on the first Wednesday of September.

 

Nice use of Rainmeter mate. Plenty of people load it up in vanilla form, think it's very basic and dismiss it, but you really have to tweak it and look hard for the nice skins (or create your own) to unlock its full potential.

Jonathan Ross is very nice. He's not interesting.

I find most people in most places pretty boring and a bit dense. That these people get naked on camera for money doesn't suggest they're in the pleasant minority, either. It's possible that they're wonderful, well-rounded people who get naked for money, but it doesn't strike me as likely. There's a pretty reliable inverse correlation between looks and personality, too. My made-up statistics are all against them being interesting people.
