    install conky, put that code in .conkyrc in your home directory, download any fonts you are missing, fix any references to hardware you do/don't have, create a script to start conky on startup... sorted!

    Just like theevilelephant said. If you're using a debain-based distro such as Ubuntu then you want 'sudo apt-get install conky' then 'gedit ~/.conkyrc'.

    The basic one is, well, basic but there is endless scope to mess with it. The fonts you need are all in the code I gave you, PieChartsForMaps, Metal Lord, Ubuntu, and Stylebats.
