Argh! My doberman puppy managed to make 3 large cuts into my right foot today while I was playing with her today! She likes to fight but dang I think she went too far today! Now my poor foot has to heal! I am almost bedridden!

Ahh yes this is our third doberman. My first one was very nice but she later got heartworms, we had her treated but it came close to killing her so we had her put down:( :cries: . Our second one is still alive though she suffers from heartworms and may be leaving this world soon:( . Our third is a few months old and is crazy and clutzy! She is still and puppy and likes to fight ALOT! Onces the older one is put to rest we will get our forth. As for dobermans being mean they mostly arent once they leave the puppy stage its just the fact that they have their tails removed and their ears clipped often which makes them look very agressive.

dobermans are one of those dogs where if you treat it nicely, it will be the nicest dog in the world, but if you mistreat them in anyway, they end up nasty... rotts are like that too... and shepards...

    <--- lol i'm an airplane

yea, some ppl down the road have a German Shepard, they are really nasty to it, like leave it outside ALL the time, and someone said they saw them hitting it :( u gotta feel sorry for it really, only thing is, its SERIOUSLY aggressive now :( scares the hell outta me :eeek:

IMO I've always had black Labradors, they are very gentle and great companions, only thing is, they are a bit dopy :) must be all that inbreeding

They are the kind of dogs that tunron their owners...mark my words

I used to have a GSD and she was the gentlest thing you could imagine. I trained her to attack n command and sit/stand/lie on command. the best demo of this was getting to her to attack someone at a distance and calling her to a halt a few feet before contact snarling. Her parents were shauchzerhound (Attack dog champions - not sure of the spelling), so training her was easy enough. Unfortunately my ex-wife lost control of he and she atacked another dog out being defensive. She had be given to the army as an Army Attack Dog.

some of the most dosile dogs i have ever come across are staffordshire bull terriers, but they have been treat right as a puppy, if you treat puppys right then you will have lovely dogs

(then agian the staffordshire bull terrier i know that is the most dosile is called pingu, go figure )

my dog did not have a great time as a puppy as we got her frm rescue, her & the rest of her litter were thrown out of a car window on the motorway, she loves riding in our cars now but is terrified of other cars but hey shes almost normal & she is 15 & stil as active as the day we got her. we have no idea of the breed as like i said we have no history but everone in my area loves her, even the little asian kids who are usually terrified of dogs like her, she barks & snarls until you put your hand in front of her to sniff & the she calms down, hillarious to watch people we dont know watch these little 5 & 6 year old kids put there hands in front of her

I won't get a dog with any amound of chow blood in it. We adopted a black lab/chow mix about a year and a half ago. My wife picked it out and couldn't tell it had any chow in it... it looked like a pure black lab. Chows have purple tongues or purple spots. This dog bit my son in the face during play and we had to take it back. I love black labs, we used to have an austrailian sheppard that was awesome too. Now we have a german-sheppard/malamute... very good but very neurotic dog... cannot stand to be alone. crazy+smart=fun... :D

I've had several dogs, an English Bulldog (of course) a mutt (mostly terrier of some kind) and my favorite, Doc Holliday, a Bullmastiff.

Bwahah, that's a man's dog right there. He was 1 year old when we gave him away, he was half pureblood bullmastiff and half something else... noone is sure :) So, clearly he couldn't be sold. So we got a puppy brindle bullmastiff. When he was 1 and we gave him away :( (he could easily jump over our fences) he could put his paws on my shoulders (I'm 6'2'') and his head was bigger than mine. He weighed a bit over 150 pounds :) man's dog, like I said. He was super-sweet, just big and kinda clumsy :) We would wrestle in the back yard but he would never bite or try to hurt anyone. When on walks it could get embarrasing if some little pansy dog started barking at him and he'd almost run away :) Sure did keep the Jehova's Witnesses (and kids selling BS magazine subscriptions) away. He's in really good hands now, so I'm not sad, he's just a really fond memory.

yup, there are several Mastiff breeds, including an American Mastiff which has bulldog in there too...

Doc had 8 or 9 siblings, one was stillborn. My mother-in-law still has the bitch, Luba a sand-red colored AKC registered bullmastiff. She's pretty big (and the dog's large too... *badum* *crash*) The largest one lived on a huge ranch in Oklahoma, he once came back dragging a cows leg. He was eventually put down when he got jumped by a pack of coyotes. He chewed the crap out of them and actually limped back home, he would have survived but he picked up rabies in the fight and had to be put down :(

If I had to pick any breed of dog for someone over here with space for a big dog (they sure aren't inside pets :) ) I'd get another bullmastiff, they are smart, really big and friendly to the right people. Really good dogs.

We used to have a Doberman, he was HUUUUUGE! Honestly he was nearly as big as a great Dane! He was the doziest dumbest dumb dog you've ever met, he had really greasy skin though and he smelt... he gave my auntie stiches, he ran around her and ran off pulling the lead tight and making her fall over :D, he draged me down the bike track when i was ickle and he cut into my uncles finger down to the bone... he ran while he was on one of those leads where they wind out the handle thing and he bust it so my uncle grabbed the cable and it cut him....

If you took him anywhere near another dog he was really evil!!! He was a guard dog so he always felt compelled to protect his territory.... oooh just remembered, my pa took him somewhere while he was on a job before and tied him to the bumper of our brand new spangly nissan patrol = really old BIIIG 4X4, my pa was walking down the customers driveway and he heard scraping, he looked behind him and "Bruno" (original name) was happily mincing down the drive dragging the bumper behind him!! Just to give an angle on the strenght it took 2 guys to hold the bumper so it could be fixed back on!!!

We now have 2 Norwegian Elk Hounds. a dog-dog and a bitch dog. She's crazy and he's a lovely dog.

ugh dogs, my pet hate :grr:

Been bitten way too many times to like any dog :blah: I can remember being chased home through a field by one dog which broke off its chain and chased me and my cousin all the way home. We had to jump ditches and stuf to get away from it, thank god it was only a smallish dog and was quite fat so it couldnt run fast (it was some sort of bull terrier).

Also last year some barsteward of a dog just attacked me in the park :eeek: :grr: totally unprovoked!

 Dogs must really hate me :sigh: :cries: :grr:
