My HDD is bricked. The controller reports "Dev Verify Failed", it's one of three identical drives which I've swapped around on the ports and cables, the only thing not ok was that HDD. Windows says need a partition table, HDDTune can't get SMART or temp readings and says it's 4.1GB like Win. Any other ideas, or is it plane bricked?

    PS it's a 3 month old Seagate :(

Is your motherboard a B1 stepping?

It's a Q45, Intel® ICH10DO. I don't remember the *45 having an issue. It's failed after a power out, someone tripped on the temporary arrangement of power cable across floor.

    Edit ICH10D0 rev_02
