Can't wait to see more! Just out of interest how much does this weigh? I can imagine it being fairly substantial.

    RETURN OF THE SAMURAI
hi guys, really sorry for the silence but have been so very busy. but here it it, i want to get this baby finished by mid august.
    SAMURAI SACRILEGIUM CONTINUED..

so here i did some more work on the bokken and made a quick click in system for the samurai camera helmet cover.
apart from that i also made some corner parts instead of the one i once made, dont like them now, they were too bulky.
with the click in system i can take the helmet off and on and must not fix it then.
the stirrups as i call them are all screwed and the screws will be decked by the fibres that they will hold.

and then, as if it would not be bad enough that i am way behing my building plan, the monitor didnt work anymore, **** **** ****. so i had to either find a new one with exactly the same inner frame dimensions or make a reducer frame and fit in another.
it was the weekend so even though i did manage to find a samsung that fitted, here is the reducer with a 19" V7 tftf. am glad i have found the real 22" sized tftf though, the smaller one wouldnt have looked right.

seeing as the paint will start soon, i have started sticking in all the wires that will not be seen and can be done before hand,

this is the new samsung 22", fitted but was 1 mm too small, i mean just think about it, samsung snips off a whole millimetre. unheard of:D
    [IMG]
did have to modify the stuck in inner samurai frame holder though, a wee bit

its time to get the backside finished.

i am trying to pack everything that is not absolutely necessary but which has to be used or controlled at some time into the rear of tha samurai. i just dont want to sacrifice the samurai aura optically by putting in modern switches and blinking leds etc..
thats what this caseing is for, DVD leds panel, switches etc..
it will also serve as a 90° bracket support for the monitor frame itself givving it more stability because its so high.
and when its finished it will be like a japanese terraces house side wall, i hope.

thnaks mate, yes really want to get this one finished.
did some of the rear panel work today, dont want any of these modern features in the front, would just destroy the samurai aura.

so here is the result of today session in the basement. the corner airlets are done with bamboo slits instead of mesh, just like some of the samurai shoulder plates. oh manthat was a lot of fiddly work getting every little twig in the right gapped pplace right. the bokken holder is made and mounted, the inner cable cover plate is done, the back fan cober cbamboo curtain cover is done, i had to exchange the monitor, was dead, is now a new second hand samsung, same size. just had to change the front buttons seeing as this one is touch on. wont need any so i modified the front battlefan rivet switches to be on off and other functions. the msuc contoller is in and tomorrow i will start with putty paint and polish.
