Hi everyone. I've seen the various leaks for the i5 and i7 #2 series, and am wondering if there's any information on when the #2 i3 parts will be released. I'm just about to build an i3 machine, and wondered whether it's worth waiting or not.
It's absolutely worth waiting two fracking weeks, just to see what happens. I would imagine the release timetable will come with the first launches. If it doesn't, you've only waited a fortnight and you can feel free to buy anyway. No brainer IMO.
I have to wait til jan anyway so job dun. I'm guessing there's no information, leaked or otherwise, on the release schedule yet then.
Wait, completely! Im in the same situation as you mate, i've got about 400 in the bank and I was looking at building an i5 system, but for the sake of two weeks im gonna hold off. Which is killing me as im desperate to power up the graphics card my cousin gave me for the new system
According to this link (pulled from wiki) http://en.expreview.com/2010/11/26/...l-sandy-bridge-processor-confirmed/12357.html the Sandy Bridge i3s will be out on 20th of February with the i5 and low end i7 parts out on the 9th. I would wait for the benchmarks, but what worries me is no K (unlocked multiplier) processors in the i3 range. I'm not sure how that will compare to a 4-4.2 GHz i3 540.
