Windows the stuff in vista

    s ther any way of removeing some of thius stuff in windows, i.e dvd maker , contacts etc.. ?

    Oh right, your worried about hard drive space or just that you don't see no point in having it there. I doubt there are ways to remove it, It's not on basic, prehaps if you don't use half the stuff on Home Premium or Ultimate maybe you should downgrade :D

    Control Panel -> Programs and Features
    Turn Windows features on or off

    That any good?

    just don't see no point in having it there, it's sfotware i'm not going to use ;)
    as for hard drive space, i got a long way to go to fill up a 500 gig drive :p

    Just remove the shortcuts and/or registry entries?

    You don't need the negligible space that they consume, and they don't use up any resources if you're not using them, so removing visibility of them should be as good as removing them all together.

    Type
    services.msc
    into the start bar to bring up the services config. Disable any services you don't want running to conserve CPU cycles and RAM. Otherwise, just follow Mister Tad's advice.

    Oh, and be careful not to disable something that's needed.

    And msconfig.exe is useful too.

    Try vLite which is just like nLite but for vista.
