agreed. Sorry, Joe, but I must join the others who dismiss Guitar Hero from the list. Exploding barrel-kills are definitely much more worthy.

hehe barack had a good fatality in mk.. they'd get impaled and it took like 10 seconds while fake blood went everywhere

have to say one of the most elite gaming moves that made you fuzzy inside was the triple box jump on map dm1 in quake 2.. some vets couldn't even pull it off but once you figured it out you could even do it running backwards- all mouse circling during the jump.. pulling this off while under fire let you pick up the armor and mega in one swoop

the knife in cs is PATHETIC

at least cod4's knife does work and it's actually violent ... although slightly too easy to use

I have a list of my own. In no particular order:
    - "He's on fire!" from NBA Jam http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7dFMbubxr4
    - The break-neck kick (where he runs up an enemy's torso and kicks in their head) from The Matrix: Path of Neo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpUfjoH2Z3U (one of the first moves the player pulls)
    - The "Ultra Combo" from Killer Instinct. Just the echoing ULTRA ULtra ultra... is epic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9m8nqX9yyc8
    - C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER! Also from Killer Instinct. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XERZywq9o_g
    - Greatsword Impalation by Lord Deimos from MACE: The Dark Age http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXTeYeehzlU 2:50 - 3:10
    - Omnislash from Final Fantasy VII http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxcDGeNOeMk
    - ION Cannon from Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9qYL03MG18&hd=1
    - Knifing some bitch, as seen in Counter-Strike. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaTUzaGBHvo
    - Stormstrike+windfury (shaman talent) from World of Warcraft http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpr87b3JIiE
    - Red Shell from Super Mario Kart http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tz0YDMGLGQI

These are the moves, looking over my game collection that cause me to giggle with a guilty pleasure unlike any other. I have some other close mentions like force-choke griefing my nephew in Lego Star Wars for the Wii and the Remote Mines for Goldeneye 64. I had a lot of things that came to mind, like going Super Sonic in the Sonic the Hedgehog sequels or strangling someone with piano wire in Hitman, but in the end I felt like this list was my personal top 10 :D I'd like to see some others' lists too :).

Don't blame me - I disagree just as heartily as the rest of you. The article was written by Phil Hartup, not I.

Oh well, I think you forgot the Gravity Gun from HL2 ;-)

And I think the Hadouken is originated from the kamehameha moves from the Dragon Ball. No?

And, this is for whoever thinking Japanese games are dead:

I think it ' s the hardest move ever and had thought its difficulty can be compared with the last achievement of COD4:MW.

Star Power is not so much an epic move in itself, I mean to look at the effects of it there's not a lot to it, but it makes the list because of how it transformed the first two Guitar Hero games. It adds so much to the gameplay and is a totally inspired addition. It's easy to look at it as not being particularly great now, because let's face it Guitar Hero has been going down hill since the second one, and on the strength of recent GH games it wouldn't have got onto the list at all, but in those first two games it was properly win. Dust off your PS2s, stick GH2 in there, pick Freebird. That's as good as GH games have ever been, and it is very good.

By the way was I the only one who kind of felt a bit sick when they announced Kurt Cobain as a playable bonus character thing in Guitar Hero 5? Pukesville.

UMmmmm you left out "throwing the ball to the half back" in Madden Football or Tecmo Bowl or heck any football game in the history of video games for that matter. It's the cornerstone play of gamers amateur or proffesional. That should be number two or tied for number two no scratch that it should be number two or tied for number one.

Now I do agree with the Headshot cuz there ain't no getting up from that!! Guaranteed Tea bagging!!
