I guess it's about time for another update.

I didn't get much done as most I need is going to be milled on the cnc, and we have had different setups sitting in it the last couple of weeks. Hope to get some done during the week/next weekend.

But I do have a small update though. I made the PSU cover:

Still needs a bit of tweaking, but all in all I think it's going to be good! :)

    C ya soon guys! :thumb:

SO! In a whole week all we get is two pics? Lead us on and then dangle a couple pictures to keep us here. If you didn't do such marvellous work I would unsubscribe.

@John - You could probably blame Spring thaw.

Although you did good last year to not disappear when the weather improved. Looks good. I can't wait to see what you have planned for cable connection.

Awesome looking shroud Angel :D Just tell the clients to wait as you have thousands of people eager to see what you need to mill :p

Just for that one, I shall reveal your true existence to the world!

Yup, I'm thinking of not updating anymore, since John just broke my heart! :p

No such thing as a "spring thaw" here. Snow comes and goes with no problems!

I'm not planning to disappear this year either. I need to finish this one up, and then it seems I'm on to working on my never ending G5 again! :)

Well I'm still waiting for some of the cables, they should be here in a week or two. I think I've got a good idea for it! :)

    Thanks man! :)

Since the clients are somewhat responsible for my paycheck, it's probably a bad idea to keep them waiting!

We also have an apprentice at the workshop for a couple of weeks to let him see how things are done at our place. He's a clever kid, but it does make me a bit more tired at the end of the day than normal! :) So staying late to get the little things done, is not really an option atm. I don't want modding to become anything than a labor of love, so if I take a 14 day break so be it! :)

Great idea! I suppose, such an arrangement of the MB would be not good decision for air-cooling, but for water... looks great! Also all the cables could be hidden in some cable-canals on the floor or wall. 5 stars + subed

Thanks a lot. :) When spending this much time on a project, why not try to make it unique?:)

My deepest apologies. I shall try not to slack so much anymore. :D

    Heh.. :thumb:

Thanks man! :) One thing most people in here probably have come to know about me, is that everything must be watercooled. Air is only good for breathing. (I might be handy when parachuting as well, I won't argue there.)

All the cables will be hidden. More on that should come later today! :)

Sorry for leaving you waiting guys. It's been hectic at work and I've been pondering a lot about the mod. But now I'm ready to go again! :thumb:

On with the show, pictures is what you wan't! :)

I milled a hole in the side for the 120mm radgrill:

This is (almost/kind of) where the dvd-drive is going to be placed.

I need to mill the in the top and make some more stuff for it.

Right now I've got a couple of my ph.d. homies in Electrical Engineering working on a controller board that will be used for the drive, and the motor.

More on that when it's done. Should be within a week or 2!

Since all the plugs are hidden underneath the PSU cover plate, I need outlets for usb/audio/RJ45 and the GFX. These will be placed next to the 120 radgrill.

    Setup:

    Milled:

I encountered a problem with the radgrill, since It's pretty far to the side AND the bottom of the side plate. I had to dremel that away:

    Done:

Then I had to round the corners of the radgrill. 4mm radius, and the gauge to use as a template for filing down the corners:

    Done:

It looks crooked, but it's just because it's not glued in place so it fell back.

Then I received the last of the cables needed. 4 usb's and 1 rj45 that are made for panel mount. The GFX cable is actually a splitter, so I need to make something to mount it. Not many options out there for a 5 inch cable for DVI  :

That's it for now. I hope to get led's in the 120 radgrill today, and finish the design of the cable outlet plate. I'll post pics later if I get it done! :)

Until then my fellow modders! :thumb:

That you found extension cables that matched is probably the most amazing part. You may have to label the front if you get the outside too clean.

Thanks a lot man! And congrats on finishing up Blue Horizon! A piece of art! :thumb:

    Thank you sir! :)

Thanks! I'm feeling fired up and ready to go again, now that I have access to the machines, and maybe some days during easter with an empty workshop! :thumb:

    Ty! :thumb:

Thanks! For my next mod, I'll just buy a complete pc and find cables.

That's not going to be a problem. I've never made a too clean mod, and never will! :thumb:

    Small update!

I designed the plate for the In / out connections. It's gonna look something like this:

Then on to cutting and soldering the led's, and then mount them:

    And it works:

Ran to the bathroom as that's the only place I have that's dark during the day!

This is on a drained 9v battery, so I think with 12v it's going to light up the entire country of Denmark!

    And in daylight:

There we go. I might go to the workshop tomorrow again, but not sure.

    C ya soon anyways! :)
