Scratch Build – Complete The Thing 3D Printed Case

More delay for the final case. My work place is closed for three weeks so i cant go there and print this.

Now all of the white parts are printed with PETG and i love the pure white color of the filament.

I ordered orange PETG and TPU (for the legs)



Raiser cable cover fits nicely







I think four of these will hold the two parts together



I added magnet for the side grill for easy access





Other side there is now power button hole and pass through for the pump power cable.

 

You got the prints! I still love this setup for having all that space to hide the trash.

I did test assembly of the case.











Now i have to plan the best build order

 

Last but no least Teamgroup joined to support this build with memory and m.2 ssd Now i have all of the parts to start finishing this.

 

You even printed up a couple of stands for the occasion

 

I love these stands, they are perfect for photoshoot.

I tested the new parts on the case and noticed one design flaw. First time i had older mb and it didnt have backplate so there was room for cables. But this new one has backplate and there is no room.
So i have to do some re design and print new ones







And i did power button cover

 

Actually I'd just trim out exactly enough to get the cables to clear, -Say, at a 45 degree angle. It will give a better fit and finish to the final rig and hold the cables perfectly.

My old rig had 1/2" for cable space. That wasn't enough, so the next one had 3/4" risers... My current build will have 1" risers.
-You should understand why I like the hollow box you designed under the motherboard now.

i did 45 degree angles for the cables



I also did version 2 for the back panel. What do you think about this design?





Here is couple of shots with the gpu. I dont know yet if i want to paint the silver on the gpu little bit darker to match mb or orange.

 

every time you post the entire case, I automatically start drooling sir!
I've also designed and printed an open case design but nowhere near as sexy as yours xD

If you want to go the extra mile, you could add risers to the top of the motherboard mounting points, and add a dress cover there as well.

 

That is good idea. Then i can use my short and flat psu cables.

 

Sounds like you are going even further than the simple flat plate I was imagining.

 

Maybe
If there is room i think i am going to do cover with magnets around the mb to hide every cable.
