Pretty much all CNC machines have a tool changer in them.

Also, I noticed they were using MasterCAM. Booyah!

The new DMG's are a real joy to use. I wouldn't call them ultimate machines though. If they start using hydrostatic ways, laser positioning and epoxy granite frame I can reconsider. (At the moment they use linear rolling ball guides, linear encoders and cast iron frame)

DarthBeavis... maybe add a fridge and program it to get you a beer... and the double D could be made out of aluminum wood, steel.. just don't turn it into weird science :hehe:

Other then that i wish i could get my hands on one of those machines... it is incredible.. i want one

CNC machines are sexy beyond all reason... :D

I'm surprised that they didnt have the typical coolant running on it as it was milling. Must be because aluminum dosnt get to hot when tooled?

    Neat stuff indeed. :)

NIce machine indeed, i think it was High speed cutting ( HSC ) these machine use special bits and go extremely quick, so any cutting heat that develeops is carried away instantly by the chips. if u watch the video closely u can see the chips spray away just like water ;)

^^ Besides most of the heat is produced at the motor end. That's why they have to run the machines for an hour or two before operation to level out the temperature peaks.
