Welcome to the Ultimate computer case worklog thread on specialtechs forums!

This is a bit of a large project due to the sheer size of the case.

The Pillar case is so called because its quite literally a Pillar of technology, measuring in at 2ft wide by 2ft deep, the real jaw dropping magnitude comes in with its height, SEVEN (yes 7!!!) full length feet make up the height of this goliath!

Consisting of an aluminum framework there will be 3 sections of grilled/meshed areas for radiator mounting, 2x2ft x 2ft acrylic panels with a custom terra nova themed pattern which will be backlit red.

A BIG BIG thank you to specialtech, pc cooling solutions who has kindly offered sponsorship for this build. Drop on by to www.specialtech.co.uk and check out thier range

And to Lamptron, www.lamptron.com, for your modding needs!

Firstly i give you the basic framework

Now where the grilled/meshed areas will be

rough design of the front panel. This is going to be hidden behind a flip down peice of mesh to conceal it all maintaining the clean simple look

    the power supply mounts

worse than chinese instructions. actually this was to help me work out how much metal i need. the numbers like 609 are mm lengths.

Finally i present to you, a rough, basic image of what the Pillar will look like when completed

Nice! I hope you have a good room for this beast, because once you build that thing, you will not be moving it lol.

i wont be fitting it fully out with radiators, but it is good to just have that option.

i mean you could have 2 evga sr 2 maxed out with the best of the best gpu's water cool the lot and never worry about the heat generated because of radiator options.

as for a large enough room. this wasnt meant to be built till late next year but decided to step it up.

its primarily being built just to go "i told you it could be done and i did it" self accomplishement reasons i guess.

They have it set up that way, until you have enough posts you can't post with out it being approved. Cuts down on spam, etc

the ultimate computer case is also a matter of oppinion really, no single case can really be the ultimate one because some people want big, some want small, some want air cooling, some want water.

personally, for me, the bigger the better, and this is as big as i can make one lol
