    or Pigeon droppings? :D

Thank you NZXT for sponsoring this build with your new "Sentry 2" touch screen fan controller, retails for $29.99 at Newegg

Video demonstration of the first model of the Sentry 2 sample I received in July 6th, 2009. Note the volume of the "Microwave" sounding beep has since been lowered on the current available models.

I was really keen when I saw these fan controllers for the first time but now that I see actual pics (not the NZXT photoshopped ones) it appears to be that little bit to bright and blingy for me :(, still looks awesome though :D.

    Thanks Interloper!

It's a nice unit, esp after they reduced the beep volume :thumb:

The faceplate of the Sentry 2 will also be painted

I think Bill said somewhere in one of the logs or videos that it's low tack painter's tape. I use the blue tape because it doesn't leave much residue to clean when removed. I think the green is probably the same idea. Maybe an auto paint store?

The best tape is 3M Scotch 233+ Green tape

3M Scotch Green 233+ masking tape is used by Automotive Paint Professionals. It's highly conformable to curved surfaces on both metal and plastic. It has good adhesion in a large range of weather conditions. It will peel off without leaving any sticky residue. Most Auto Body Supply Stores should be stocking this tape. It's also readily available online. 3M Scotch 233+ tape has a premium price compared to other tapes, but it performs the best

I also use the 233+ tape to mask off side panels sent to us for custom windows. It protects the surface from getting scratched by the Jigsaw. I've double layered the tape to insure some of hi-end aluminum case panels we customize are not damaged.

One layer is fine for most steel cases with powder coated finishes like the Antec 300 pictured here.

The popular alternative is 3M Blue "Painter's Tape"

Blue Painter's Tape is a lighter material. It can start to peel off a surface if left on longer than 24 hours (depends upon enviroment)
It doesn't adhere well in humid environments. It's intended primarily for indoor use, house paints in particular. Any other generic brand masking tape can leave adhesive residue. They can also lift paint when you peel it off if you had excessive overs pray on the tape.

I know a lot of people can't afford to buy premium products like the 233+ tape, but we see this product as an investment in our quality of work. I would rather spend $12 for a roll of good tape than replace somebody's case panel because we scratched it.

Hope this info helps you! :thumb:

It didn't look right leaving it bare aluminum. Urban Camo custom paint is finished on the Cooler Master SNIPER's side panels
