Docodine, thanks for bringing up S&B day. i thought the world was forgetting on us Valentines is a stupid tradition, never really bothered to do much about it. I sent a text this year, which is a fking miracle.
Just like with most of these days, I like the idea of showing/telling your dearest you care about them, BUT. First of all: these days the caring seems to be buying some crap = DISLIKE, and why on earth would you need a valentines day to tell or show them, anyway? Meh anyway, nothing to celebrate here, but I did get three couriers at my door, so I'm happy. Hardware manufacturers really know how to surprise a guy
Meh im not worried i forgot it was valetines day until some nob tryed to sell me some cheap chocolates in a petrol station I think if i was'nt single i would enjoy it because i can't remeber the last time i had a relationship on valentines day Just another day my friends, Just another day....
I actually like the Japanese Valentines system. Feb 14th: Girls give valentines chocolate to the boys March 14th: Boys reply Gives the girls a chance to confess their love, even if only in an anonymous way. And being guys, we tend to be pretty clueless on when a girl actually likes us in the romantic/sexual way, unless ofc she is blatantly obvious (but theirs still those who don't even notice that) Valentines, in the spirit of it (ie: love) is perfectly fine, but ofc if you are in a relationship, you should show your affection throughout the year, not just focused on 2 or 3 days a year (val, xmas, bday) Valentines taken over by the commercial entities is what bugs me though... the way they overhype it and put so much onus on it, really kills it for a lot of us.
Same here It only took my wife about 5 or 6 years to finally stop celebrating monthaversarys, so I imagine i'll be getting valentines and xmas presents for a while yet I didn't bother buying my wife anything, I rarely do these days since she's got everything she wants already, but I always still manage to give her something nice and special of course
I see a flaw as to why it isn't good for you SUCCESS you sir, have some rep for successful awesome Yes, Yes you are. On a more personal view. In light of my hugely genetic superiority to humans. The Adeptus Custodes do not require female company... not voluntarily anyway. I JEST. I had about 12 people arguing on Facebook last night because I actually enjoy being single... Apparently the idea of "When someone understands I'm mental and like to go skydiving alot... then they can be a woman who I can stay with, otherwise i'll probably drive them to an early grave with worry!" Only one person thought that selfless, the rest thought I was being a... and this is the quote "Stop being such a whiny woman Brawl, you're single deal with it." to which my response was "u mad bro? read the thread" to which I got "Yeah I feel dumb." to which the response was "Yup, I think my brains stopped working quite so fast now i've spoken to you, cheers"
WHY IS THIS NOT PUBLICISED?! It's also quite frankly a lot more honest in its nature! It is my mission in life to make sure everyone I know feels this way.
I see Valentines day as pretty meaningless. Like you need a particular day to show someone you love them?! But if your misses is into it (even if she's not) then you better get her something, or your life won't be worth living.
It's pretty easy to balance on one leg and then jump. You, too could join the literally tens of others who enjoy romantically hopping everywhere together.
To be fair, it's exactly as honest: one sex tries to explain the other what it is that they want, and lay down the ground rules in the easiest possible terms. All the other side needs to do is RTFM, and everyone will be happy. However, neither will ever get it right, and both sides think the other's day is pointless, overhyped, and frankly a bit rude.
i think we should keep this quiet, lest we sully its integrity. just let interested parties in on it, a walled garden, if you will. this is how things then become popular. word of mouth. besides, we wouldn't want, say, the meat trade associations coming along and capitalizing on it, now would we?
