I managed to gain 5kg since my wedding. I've been going to the gym for the last three weeks and have managed to shed 2kg of that. Like Porkins, I'm trying to lose as much as I can, to indulge at Christmas.

Currently going to the gym 5 times a week and restricting myself to 1500 calories daily with one treat meal a week.

Good job Warren, good luck with the 1/2 marathon!

I agree that sometimes you have to indulge a little and have a treat / cheat meal. Some people have said a cheat snack / meal a week really helps people stay on track. On the other hand, it can also derail people (case and point, me last year. Was good from March until Halloween, than went downhill). Just gotta be diligent and if you do have something, only have one.

2 days of p90x done, about to go do day 3 after this post. Having trouble with some of the exercises, I'm just not flexible enough / having a tough time, BUT I certainly feel it in my core, which is good. Time to get at it!

Comes down to what works for you, what best fits your circumstances in a way that can be kept up without feeling like you're constantly forcing yourself to continue.

Well I enjoyed the lean food diet that I was on earlier in the year, and whilst I had to get up an hour early in the morning to keep on top of the exercise and/or food prep (eating junk "on the go" is my biggest downfall) I managed that as well, so I don't see any reason why I can't make it work again. I lost ~2lb per week whilst I was doing that, never felt like I was actially on a diet because the food was delicious and interesting, and saw a big increase in energy and stamina whilst running or exercising.

After trying some yoga and certain p90x exercises, I've come to the realization that I am very inflexible and have terrible balance. THIS MUST BE IMPROVED!

Indeed. Yoga is an excellent way to tone up. That with some regular cardio and you're on your way :)

I need to get me a chin-up bar or somewhere high up where I can safely secure some resistance bands next. My garage would make a good candidate, but being winter, it's very cold in there, so that will have to wait until spring / summer.

Get a little oil or fan heater in there, for when you're working out :)

Today is my weekly weigh in.

    Lost 2lbs/1kg.

    Very pleased :)

Today was gym session #90, I don't know how much I've lost but knowing that I feel more comfortable in my clothes is rewarding enough.

    It's an awesome feeling that.

I've not been in the gym for a while, even though I've been putting in good miles on the bike I'm not feeling too happy with it.

Time to get back on track.

    On or off?

Either way that's terribly unhealthy, if true.

Off Don't understand how it's so much really all i did was start going to the gym doing weights (not cardio) and taking regular protein shakes...

It's very person dependent. Overweight women can safely loose weight a lot faster than a slim male.

He said one stone in two weeks :) Still a bit on the high side but not unhealthy unless he was underweight in the first place. If he's a beginner and/or young it's not unusual to see a significant result in the first stages of training.
