*lose Sorry, couldn't resist. And about the weight loss etc, m8, seriously, you probably look in better shape than ANYONE on this forum.
Noted, It’s certainly been a long journey… I think this thread holds my full journey from start to finish, fat to decent, decent to fat, and the whole 9 yards. I like to Keep it updated for personal reference.
Well, I finally caved. Both my wife and I have officially gone on Wegovy. If I'm honest, it makes me pretty sad that it got to this point, but weight loss has genuinely felt like an ongoing losing battle for a long time for me. hoping this will be the kickstart we need to build a much healthier life for ourselves. When I was sitting there ordering it, I was so upset with myself, genuinely nearly in tears. I'm currently the heaviest I've ever been, sitting at 5ft 10 at 21.5 stone. I’ve let myself get big between a desk job, lack of exercise and shovling crap into my body. I struggle just to bend down to tie my shoes or cut my toenails. I never thought this would be me, getting lazy and overeating. At 36, I'm honestly pretty gutted about it, quite a low point for me. But I am trying to put it right. I paid for MyNetDiary and I'm watching my calories, fat, and protein. I've picked up some recommended supplements like collagen and biotin, and I even bought a walking treadmill. I don't think I could hit 10k steps a day just yet, but I'm going to try and build up to it. We're about a week in now. I haven't had any side effects at all, but sadly my wife has been getting migraines and is pretty wiped out in the evenings, it really seems to be taking it out of her. To keep costs down, our plan is to jump between vendors every month to take advantage of the deals, which looks like it should save us around £400 or so each. Long term, I think this is helping me really look at what I put into my body and forcing me to look after myself. If I don't, I might not make it to old age at this size. I'll never be jacked, but I'll happily settle for a lot slimmer healthier me. I don't fell confident yet posting any photos, maybe one day, if it all works out. Rant over. Thanks for reading.
I've never been on this thread, but I've been on a fitness journey since the beginning of the year, as I hit nearly 100kg, and as someone who was once 56kg (I'm 187cm), being this heavy makes my body dysmorphia go crazy, I feel alien in my own body! I'm also probably one of the few people to go to the US and lose weight, I lost 2kg out there from being so disorientated it made my eating habits go screwy and I usually only had 2 meals a day! I'm now at around 10kg down and this week I've finally decided to give up alcohol for a bit, as I've always binge making the hangovers horrible, and I'd eat too much garbage that day and the day after, plus it'd ruin my sleep and headspace for days after so and exercise routines got destroyed! I also just finished 2 weeks with a CGM, if anyone's curious on using one, I wouldn't bother unless you have actual medical need, as the information is almost impossible to do anything with!
Same, pill rather than injection. I've found I don't need to count calories or monitor anything, I just eat way way less, 3 weeks in and no downsides so far
I always have a CGM "installed", but I am T2 diabetic and ALL the insulin resistant so the data gathered is exceptionally useful, but I can see what you mean if your glucose levels are naturally controlled and nothing out of the ordinary. Sure you can see what sorts of foods will spike your levels, but as long as you are not diabetic, those levels should return reasonably quickly to a normal range and the rest of the data such as predicted a1C levels, time in range, high or low "episodes" shouldn't really be showing much of use to you and at ~£50 a sensor every 2 weeks (thankfully I am prescribed them), not really worth it.
Yeah, exactly this, its good to see confirmation my body is working correctly, but if I was to do anything to 'fix' it, I'd probably just make it worse! Plus I have needle phobia, so it was hellish!
I was going to do the pill but for me the cost was too high, and it was lower effectiveness, I felt the jag was the best middle ground option as Munjaro starting prices were much much higher
I'm paying around £100 a month, and so far with the food I'm no longer buying it's working out as about even on my wallet. Last I looked they were similar enough in effectiveness to not be an issue for me, but I'm only trying to get rid of 30kgs
So actually weighed myself for a change and I'm currently at 87kg, which seems a lot considering I got down to 78! Interestingly that dreaded bane of my life skin pouch is starting to show again
Looking awesome! What exercise are you doing? I'm mainly focussed on sorting my sleep currently,as its still so broken, before I start building exercise habits! I weighed myself just now, and I'd bumped to 93kg last week and back down to 91kg today. I've decided to give up booze for the foreseeable, so hopefully that compounds!
Cutting the booze may well help with the sleep. Stopping caffeine after lunchtime each day, sorted my sleep problems.
Oh yeah, affine after 12 has been a no go for years! If I wanted to party all night an espresso martini was perfect though! I seems to have around a 12 hour caffeine metabolism! So I have to caffeine load in the morning to wake me up enough to be functional!
Honestly just weight training without cardio but my routine is all over the place… dropping the booze is a great idea! absolutely ridiculous,
