have got to say i dont hear that word ever where i am, thank god for the epic. class thread btw! EPIC lol
Epic, epic for the epic! As for OP, just cos youve been arround and seen everything, nothing is epic? To you maybe, but what about the n00bs? What your really saying is that you dont want anyone using your epic as they arnt as epic as you are because they havent seen as much epic as you. Let the n00bs have their fun and remember you havnt seen as much as John has!
As the owner of the "Epic Project Log" I apologize for any naming discrepancys. Yes I am new to the forum and yes I am new to modding so I apologize if I upset anyone. I do feel that a thread entirely devoted to bashing the name of my mod is a bit extreme? Not really a great introduction to the modding community or bit-tech. If the name is a problem I have no problem changing it, I can just call it A380 mod if that suits you. I am deeply hurt that someone would go through all the trouble to bash me because of a mods name, or even the use of what I believed was a fairly common word. Im sorry for being a bit of a newbie and I will no longer use the word "epic". I have no desire to start a flame war with you but I am insulted especially the part about the "half ass rendering and 0 photos of actual build or progress." Im sorry my abilities and resources do not meet your lofty expectations.
One of my friends still uses 'legendary'. I personally have begun using 'rad' again in semi-ironic contexts, because I bloody love the word.
I didn't think you rendering was half-assed. They're better than I can do. I wouldn't worry about it too much though Roboduck, my understanding is that the word is thrown around out of context so much these days (and for that I agree with the OP), but usually by people who aren't even in a position to be able to use that word. I'm confident that based on your design, the worklog will earn the title further along. What I found amusing is that the OP slated the use of the word epic in the worklog title because no progress had been made, but had the whole project been completed in a matter of days, then that kind of goes against what the word means, as epic can be used to describe something that is long and poetic as shown by this dictionary definition: So yeah, a little loose there but the principle is the same. Roboduck's design is by no means an simple one to put into action, and he's likely to run into a few problems along the way, but to potentially hinder his confidence over one word, considering he is new, is bad form in my books.
Cliff Notes OP dislikes the word 'epic' as it has been overused. People reply back to OP with posts containing the word 'epic'. Much LOLs were to be had.
Epic rant. And back to the topic: tbh my sisters ex over-used the word about eight years ago and ever since seeing him once I've tried not to use the word that much. I can see how you get upset, I get berzerk about all over-used, fashionable words.
