Fadin's Medal! Awesome. You need a extra medal for the last two with two shells - that's straight out of the movies.

Unlikely one for me as the US tanks mostly have lots of ammo.

 

In my reply i actually realized that i started the game with 16 ammo, missed my very 1st shot, then manage to hit enemy with all my 15 remaining ...... with 3 enemy tanks i had 5 ammo left, spend 3 to kill a hetzer with full armor, then kill another hetzer with 1 shot (he was with half armor), then traveled from my base to enemy base, killed Bison (arty) with 1 shot.

really felt the power of 105 gun

 

Was that all HEAT or HE?

 

If you like the 105mm and are careful with your aim, try it with gold ammo.

I use it on the PzIV and I one shot most tanks up to Tier 5 and quite a few Tier 6 & 7's as well. I can kill a KV-1S in two shots into the side with it, one shot if he already has any kind of damage already - the trick is getting close enough so as not to miss.

I am constantly getting Top Gun and Confederate with it, along with huge amounts of XP due to the amount of damage dealt, especially if it is dealt to higher tier tanks.

The only time I lose money on it is when I miss my shots - 2800 credits per gold shell is wasteful if you miss...

 

Buy your gold ammo on the special when it comes round. 1400 credits is easier to make a profit on.

I have the M4 and Jumbo Shermans on the 105. I prefer playing them without gold as you get less stressed over a miss and you're not always changing back to HE for long-range shots.

 

I never bother with the HE on the PzIV, too frustrating not being able to pen bigger tanks.

With the gold ammo I always go after the higher tier tanks (which earns you much higher XP & credits), scares the hell out of them which makes it hilarious... I play it purely for fun and a break from the tier 8, 9, & 10's.

Of course it is risky getting close enough to ensure I don't miss but that is what is fun about it.

 

Any one tried the Pz 1 C? It is my new favorite tank. Its is so much fun running around and owning noobs in it.

 

Yeah I've used it.

I think I have a sharpshooter medal per game in it. Record is something like 200 rounds used so far.

 

Had sniper with it and its put my sharpshooter record up to 81

 

HE

 

I used to carry 5 gold ammo but its been twice now that i have forget to change my ammo so end up with use them with miss shots.... so don't carry anymore, but yes its good to have some to face those heavys

 

Played my first few games of this after not playing for ages... [last games i played were just after the French tree was introduced]...

... good god i'm rusty [not that i was much good to begin with...]

first time ive ever got a top gun AND a confed from the same game

almost got a 7th kill...but the match ended before I could ram the opposing tetrarch >_<

8 Kills, nabbed a T50 at the bottom, not today but easily my best battle. The 105 with elited crew and three perks on each, no gold ammo. The T50 had a HE round to its side.

 

Just when all hope was lost this weekend, it all came together in the most fun I've had in a long time.

Partnered with another KV-1S with a Top derp gun, and we tanked a corner of the map like bosses, not both rushing around and firing, staged fire reload protecting each other.

Was a real joy, and after that match I'm calling it a night.

 

bumped into arguably the Best ( read worst ) player I have ever seen on WOT...his name is Tirisol
he sucked and really let the team down, so I checked on his stats...
13,300 games 3,027 kills and 40% win ratio...and some of his tanks are just...
Ferdi 737 games, 34% win ratio...
Tiger 2 146 games, 39% win ratio...

no idea how its possible to be THAT bad... he has a better win ratio in his KV5 than his ferdi...


also im loving the little angel you see when a tank dies ^_^

 

Some tanks are hard to get a good win ratio until you upgrade the gun etc, the Ferdi and Tiger II being two such examples, you need a lot of games to get the upgrades and start winning.
