anther sweet link to the blog where I get most of my upcoming information
this post is about some of the physical changes to the models
    http://ftr-wot.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/model-changes-in-086.html
some are not very important like the SU85b mantlet change
but 50B is being made a little smaller, E100 has its turret moved forward
SU14 is being made a fair amount smaller etc etc
    worth a look

also early reports are that the Super Pershing is getting its front plate angle reduced

    But that's a good thing.

It was the same in halo 3. You had to play to increase your level which mean you got our into harder matches. Thus keeping it interesting.

But the difference is that one player on his own cannot determine the outcome, when they put a good player into a team with useless morons it is a sure loss. It is artificially penalizing good players and promoting bad players based upon how many times they win or lose.

I always knew random matches where anything but random. So few battles are close or interesting, it's either steam roller the enemy or them steam roller you, unless you're on Campanovka or Province then you can add camp until draw.
I can bearly play more than 2 battles now before getting fed up with the game's terrible playerbase. I even get frustrated at retarded enemies now, thats how bad this game has got. I don't mind losing battles so long as both teams play well, but this hardly ever happens.

I don't have a problem in being put in as bottom tier soem of the time. Just makes it a different challenge.

As for the patent, bear in mind they're incoded every possible option the could do in the filing to make it as wide as possible.

It isn't about being put in the bottom tier, that isn't the problem, it is about the matching of player abilities within a team irrespective of tier.

I don't have a problem with being teamed with players at the same level as me, it is when the mis-match of abilities is so vast that I have a problem with.

For example, if I am crap in a particular tank, then I would expect to be teamed with similarly crap players and matched against similarly crap enemies. If I am good in a particular tank then I expect to have a team of similar abilities and be matched against enemies the same.

The problem arises when you are good in a particular tank and the matchmaker teams you with a whole team full of crap players on the basis that your ability should offset the crap players - this never works as I said before - one player cannot carry a team. What happens if you are a good arty player teamed with a team full of crap tank players? You are on a hiding to nothing.

If you are teamed with players of a similar ability as yours then matched against enemies of a similar ability, you will get closer and more exciting games. Too many are 15-2 slaughters due to the mis-matched matchmaker.

    I read it as:

"you're crap play with crap people"

"you're good play with good people"

As for 15-2 matches, look at how often that happens in company battles and then literally happens the other way in the next match against the same opponents. WOT will often be a one sided victory and not because of the skill of the players, but because of affect of tanks getting 2-3 ahead on one side, while a strong defence holds down and survives.

If it was "you're crap play with crap people" and "you're good play with good people" it would work better than it is now, as the moment it is "you're good so we are going to put you in a team of crap people" or "you're crap so we are going to put you in a team of good people".

BUT the balance between the opposing teams isn't the same. How many times have you been the best player in a team full of crap up against a team of good (but not awesome) players? It seems that you get penalised for being good, not just by harder opponents but by crappier team mates as well.

The matches in the "you're good so we are going to put you in a team of crap people" category are the ones where the 15-2 massacres happen most.

Lance in all fairness you're barking up the wrong tree trying to defend a mediocre product (being polite here) which is basically rigged.

Why do you think most of the former regulars from the bit-gamer channel have moved on?

It's not only because of that cluster f*ck of a situation that was The Dogs of War.

it happens in Tank Companies due to the way in which it works, both teams use constantly adapting tactics and the winner is usually determined by whos tactics counter the others easiest
which is why scouting is SO important in a TC so you can counter your opponent and have the initiative

Define "Basically Rigged", I'm not seeing it. Of course it is designed to ensure that 99% of players need to spend cash to get to the top tiers, but if you don't get hung up about grinding than it's pretty decent fun.

By 'basically rigged' he means that the game is set to stopping you from progressing by design. The patent which was being talked about, and as Fingers mentioned, it is in built to the game that when you hit 50%+ or higher W/L ratio it will team with people who are way below that. It deliberately teams you with crap people to make you lose until your W/L ratio gets back down to around the 50% mark. It also works vice versa for those with comically low win ratios.

This wont really affect you yourself Risky as you seem to have blast enjoying yourself playing whatever tank in whatever battle and more power to you for it but personally, and for a lot of other people, it gets annoying to constantly lose because the game is literally screwing you over; at high tiers this is particularly annoying since from tier 8 and upwards you must have an amazing game or win to not lose credits.

Well 2 my colleagues one 'donat' - 16k+ battles, premium tanks, tier 10 etc. Has w/l ratio around 51. Second 'non-payer' 18k+ battles, tier 10 and w/l ratio around 47 - whole intense care unit play on this account :). Also I often met players with high battle count and w/l ratio around 60 percent (xvm stat)

You can reduce the effect of the matchmaker rigging by playing a lot of platoon games with good players, playing tank companies or clan wars, thereby reducing any chances of the rest of the team being crap.

One thing I have noticed is that as the matchmaker puts you into harder games, the number of platoons in your team and in the opposing team increases. It doesn't always mean they are good but they seem to be more even battles usually.

These kinds of matches can't be rigged as much by the matchmaker although there are rumours of gun dispersion, bounces, ricochets, non-dmg hits etc increasing as well but this is still just a rumour, it hasn't been confirmed by a patent filing.

It's artificially balanced to keep everyone in the 40%-60% W/L band, but so what?

All that means is that the difference between a good player's ratio and a terrible player is smaller than it otherwise would be. Someone who is good will still have a better W/L ratio than someone who sucks, but it will be 52% to 47% rather than 70% to 30%.

This type of matchmaking also creates the opportunity for a player to indeed carry an entire team. I think most of us have had games where we got 7 or 10 or 12 kills in a game, and that's only going to be possible when ALL the other players on BOTH teams suck balls. These kinds of games are ones that are going to keep players excited and coming back.

Sometimes it works in your favor, too. Where I notice it the most is playing artillery. Sometimes my shells all go to the outside of the circle and I can't hit anything, and other times I can hit maneuvering scouts. It also appears to show up in the damage, as other people have mentioned. Sometimes shells bounce like crazy, but then you get games like the one I had Saturday where I one-shotted a TOG in my Grille. 680 dmg plus fire = dead aircraft carrier!

I agree WG might be overdoing it in order to keep everyone around the same level, but I don't find it detracts from the game enough that I'm tempted to stop playing.
