This weekend was terrible, but not only me, watched QB last night for around 20 min, and oh boy its joy to see him fail game after game lol , he had 48.89% from 45 battles WoTLab Link



Yestarday I played both t62a and obj 140 on test server, now i am even more confuse, but both are good and surely 140 has more mobility where 62a has more armor.

 

This weekend, as with most of the special weekends, has indeed been poor!

It was at least, and oddly, 70% arty free, which was a nice respite from the norm.

Add the T62A, T54 and Object 140 to my hate list, those are really nasty in squads of 3.

As for QB's stats, that's one of the things that jingles always says in his videos, he has to play through many junk games to get a few good replays!

 

I had a cracking night with mediums and lights, picked up a Firefly and used some of my free XP to get all the toys and shuffled my sherman crew over. First game was a little meh got snuffed by a teir 8 TD early on not much I could do to avoid that.
Second game took out a tiger2 IS-3 and a centurian, cracking little tank meant I completed the meium missions as well. Thinking this will be a keeper tank already.

Also managed a couple of the light missions in my Chaffee, its so OP in low tier games hairing around using auto aim taking out arty and TDs mad a nice change from running heavies and TDs.

Still getting to grips with the T37, doesnt help when you have to push a T62A up the hill to the lighthouse because its slower than you so you get shot.

 

After an agonising choice and ages looking at all the Tier 8 Premium tanks, I picked up the Chinese Medium T-34-3 last night!

I was initially looking at heavies and torn between the IS-6 and the 112 but in the end moved to the mediums, considering the FCM 50t & the T-34-3.
With terrible gun depression and a hull that even a Cromwell can pen, I was a little worried about playing this Chinese medium. However, so far, I am having a blast with it! It has a weird mobility to it, that does not feel that fast outright, up until you realise just how slow the guy next to you is!

It requires a complete change of play if you are used to German or British mediums and you have to be very aware of it's long reload (worse than an IS2!) but so far so good.

Seems to be an a good money maker. I still lack a tier 8 heavy, which buying a premium tank was meant to address but either way, it's nice to be able to play a tier 8 tank in the late evening and not be put in the bottom of an endless steam of tier 10 games.

 

After seeing the 50T and CDC play, I regret the T-34-3 purchase I made . The T-34-3 has a gun that just screams awesome flanking shots, but about 1/2 the time when you attempt such a shot you eat dirt. The reload is actually not too bad as long as you stay at medium range. The hull is actually surprisingly bouncy for tanks at a lower tier than you. Play it like you would a 140's hull. At extreme angles you can troll-bounce a lot of shots. The turret armor is magnificent as well.

The DPM is dismal though so you'll find that you feel like you had a good game but come out with only 900 or 1000 damage. HEAT is nice, but I've found that in about 85% of cases AP is just fine as long as you're playing to shoot at sides. Mine makes me quite a bit of money like that .

 

I just got a first class mastery badge in the t34-3 on a loss, with 3600 damage in it and nearly 100k credits. best game so far.

The mountain goat (cdc) looks cool but I wanted something with armour. fcm also looked ok but I felt it too similar in game play to the centurion.

I don't know yet if I regret it or not. pretty much everything you said about it is correct. That gun it a troll fest with its poor accuracy yet when you derp people with it, and can abuse other medium it feels great.

I think a 100 games is really the minimum for getting the feel of any tank across the many maps.

 

I've bought 8 tier prems for crew training and credits. I have 4 soviet crews for HT with 3-4 perks so no is6 I've go over Germans HT so bought Löwe. Then I try Germans TD and bought jgtgr 88. They both interesting and fun tanks. And with great credit farmrate. For t-34-3 I've played couple battles on t-44 with 122 mm gun and it was awful... Maybe after wz120 with top gun I'll change my mind

Is T14 any good?

Thinking to get, before it get removed.

 

I've had one for a couple of years and I can't say it's a favourite but it does have some epic games. I suspect it might benefit from more skill than I can bring.

Been on WoWs since alpha. Great game.

 

I played couple of battles, two things I don't like

- Battles take way longer to develop and complete

- I have no knowledge on battle ships, no clue about their class, strength and weakness etc. So have to learn from very beginning .... but will give it a try again


Don't know how many of you watch twitch streams, but it was fun to watch QB being carried by Jingles in WoWs , where its other way round in WoT

 

Just don't try to draw parallels to tanks.

Destroyers are the lightest and most stealthy, but they carry the biggest punch if they land their torpedoes. Battleships have bigger guns and armour but the RoF is very bad indeed. Cruisers are the middle ground and probably the best place to learn the basics and have fun as opposed to WoT where they are generally the hardest to play.

Carriers you will think of as arty, but it's nothing like it as you don't have completely massive fire-power (air launched torpedoes are weaker that ship-launched and it takes minutes to get to the targets.. I do think it does give you a chance to see the pattern of the battle from top-down and thus it's probably useful to gain experience.

 

From what little I've seen BSs can repair themselves too.

 

I have played this a little,
Just got the Fuso, a tier 6 Japanese Battleship
The Aoba, a tier 6 Japanese Cruiser
And up to tier 4 on the US Destroyer line.

Riskey is bang on, battleships are powerful but turn slowly, as do their guns and they are very vulnerable to torpedoes, from either planes or other ships. I like both the Kongo at tier 5 and the Fuso but I do much better in Cruisers. Your fast, commonly with medium calibre rapid fire guns, manoeuvre pretty well, but your size (surface detectability), and lack of armour make you a 1 shot for most battleships. You can hugely out-gun most destroyers but are still vulnerable to their torpedoes.

Overall it's pretty good so far, a nice mix of strategy and tactics. I actually get the impression I got things the wrong way round with the whole destroyer and cruiser choice, The US Cleveland at tier 6 is amazing, slower than the Aoba but double the number of guns, faster fire and longer range. I get the impression the US destroyer line outshine the Jap one from about tier 4/5 onwards.
