The funniest bit for me, in fact one of the funniest things I've ever seen (Must have just been in the right mood) is when "Reggie" come to pick up one of their daughter's and Smith plays the drunk uncle.

Its biggest problem was that it followed pretty much the greatest Bond ever made (IMO/Waits for the massive slander) for me. QOS wasn't all that bad, was infinitely better than the horrific Brosnan era but just not a patch on Casino Royale.

That said, the opening sequence to QOS is epic. That broody dark music as the camera sweeps over the sea and then WALL OF V12 NOISE NEEEEOOOOOOOOWWWWM.

Fairly play for confessing that dark secret of yours. In fact, out of respect, I'll rep you for it.

But by christ I don't agree with it!

Brosnan era was awful APART from Goldeneye which is a genuine classic, shurely?!

Still, I'm like a little girl when Connery plays Bond. Yeah, I admit it.

QOS is just a horrid mess of a movie and the director should be shot with cannon full of his own ********. The opening car chase I have seen about 4 times and I still have no idea whats happening as its cut so badly.

Yeah Goldeneye was acceptable. I'd probably be a Connery whore too but I grew up with Brosnon, so I grew up thinking Bond was some smooth talking pansy cheesy moron and then Craig came along and BAM, I WILL SMASH YOUR FACE INTO A TOILET SCUM BAG! Bad ass, cold as hell Fuuuuu you up Bond was created.

I do love Connery obviously, but my favourite Bond is whoever is in my favourite Bond film, so Craig it is :D

I don't know enough about the books or the original concept, but I'd like to think given who Flemming was, Craig's bond is a more accurate representation than Pierces!

Yeah the chase its self is a bit rubbish. The main thing I never got, when one of the Alpha's goes over the cliff clearly the camera man must have been doing something else because it goes out of shot then a massive jerk of the camera when he went OMG I'M MESSING UP A 400K SHOT!!!

They still put it in the film! You can't even see it hit the deck, idiots.

The fact remains though, broody music, over the sea, NEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWMMMMMM. That's pretty epic.

    Yes, to all.

Day Watch; but if you're going to see it, watch it in it's original Russian with English subs. The English dub is terrible.

Hellraiser 1 to 4. After that, they go downhill in a BIG WAY!!

Tremors and the sequels are all great with some hilarious running gags.

    Crank 2. Awesome film.

Shanghai Knights. Better than the original just for the fact it has Donnie Yen.

The Star Trek Reboot. the newest one, i think its an amazing sci-fi film, and arguably the best trek film.

Both the Infernal affairs sequel and prequel.

Once upon a time in china 2 (possibly some of the others but theres so many im just going to list 2 as its my favorite).

Spiderman 2. Only 2 as three wasn't as good as the first two.

Can't think of any more off the top of my head that Ive not already seen in this thread.

Not everyones cup of tea, but it certainly took the Crank formula to a new level.

I love that film, and Shanghai Noon. Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson were awesome together.

Some of the effects were pretty sweet and the fact that it was a Star Trek film and people got to shoot something in the face and not have a massive moral buttache for the rest of the film was fantastic. The score was also good enough for me to buy on CD and listen through many times.

However (and this is just my opinion now, mm'kay) lens flare, a low budget (engineering is a Budweiser brewery ffs,) and disregard for hard canon really screw this one up. Seriously, scale has always been an issue in Star Trek, just look at the Oberth, but the factory size interiors were really off. Also, lens flare.

Given the choice, I'd still rather watch Wrath of Kahn or First Contact.

Now this is not a true sequel. But it does continue 2 of the best sci-fi movies into one.

AVP - it expands on the originals like no other sequel has ever done.

Could Crank really improve? I mean it's miserably horrible.

This is great - some good discourse!

I've amended the lsit slightly based on what appears to be popular consensus - I like the idea of after a while setting up a poll to see which of the list is deemed the BEST sequel to date... Perhaps we could do this at some point.

The list has surely gotta be a bit bigger or better than this though?!?!?!?!!!

    :)
