Pretty sure the original ps3 had heat pipes Still looks like the case is pretty cheaply made, appears to still use the horrible plastic clip design from the 360
Actually you are correct: But it's not used to spread the heat to the heatsink for improve cooling. This is like laptop.. just to move the heat from the processors to the heatsink. The heatsink themselves don't have heat pipes.
Did anyone notice that there is no eject button or power button? I guess you have to say "XBox On", and "XBox Eject Disk"
The 360 had a pipe as well. I believe it was a post realise modification when the first models started RROD'ing.
Just started watching it (durr, someone forgot that it was on) and I've noticed something. Every time I see him, I want to punch Don Mattrick, he just has one of those faces. Back on topic - Really MS? "...Alive..alive...ALIVE...alive...." My god is that their new direction? I know this is about the hardware but really, it's ass. Also, 'everything in one box'............of which my TV can already do everything except play xbox games
Was on TS with a few friends watching it, we all thought it was going to be called Xbox Alive. Turns out it was named equally poorly, and a tad more confusingly ^^
I love you Goodbytes... Defending the WU to the hilt in every thread I come across... I AM going to buy one in a month or two... Purely for the social. Xbox Bum and P1ss4 can bugger Orf...
Why would you buy a Wii U it has no interesting games? PS4 will have all the exclusives you want when you are a PC gamer (apart from halo). Even EA won't be making games for it. The Wii U has no killer game that makes you want to buy it. The xbox one is really pushing for the 'one box in your living room'. As far as I see it they are going after more causal gamers. The success of the kinect probably convinced microsoft to go down that route. They just pushed the money out to get exclusive game content like Fifa ultimate team. Here nobody cares about fifa ultimate team, but for all my friends who play fifa on console this is huge news to them. Same with getting CoD maps a month early. Guess it is there effort to keep the 'hardcore gamers'.
Am I the only one that's actually chuffed with what was seen here? What did everyone expect? The move to the home entertainment system was inevitable and 100% predictable. Spielberg making a HALO series is generally positive (please let it be as good as Forward Unto Dawn). Exclusive games was always going to be a buyout race. In game footage or not, Forza 5 is going to look AMAZING (Forza 4 already does, I have no doubt in my mind about 5 being een better). The new Kinect is INSANE. Works in the dark, recognises facial gestures, fingers, clothes, etc. It's the Kinect the way it was supposed to be. The new controller looks sensible as well: Closer CoG, better contours, better d-pad, rumble in the triggers as well. All in all - evolution, not revolution - like the PS4 then. PC Gamers are going to hate, but you lot hate the moment that someone utters Console. HELL, I even like the way it looks. The second hand restriction looks fair enough to me as well.
Yes from a power consumption perspective it looks great. As a games console in the year 2013 it pretty much blows.
You're not the only one. I actually liked what I saw too. But, as you mentioned, this place has a huge hatred for consoles in general.
Quiet true BentAnat/Phalanx. Don't get me wrong, i'm a PC gamer at heart, but with the lack of room for a PC, and the use of a Laptop, PC gaming is heavily restricted, while sitting down in front of the TV is very easy, so i'm on the 360 a hell of a lot more than i used to be. Microsoft were never going to demo games on it, It's a Hardware reveal after all, E3 is where the games will be shown off. But my point of view, The One looks fantastic, Very simple clean look, Great Hardware inside with an 8-Core AMD, Blu-Ray and built in WiFi, Yes, the 500GB HDD is a massive let down, if ALL games are installed to drive, why is it so small? I'm not too fussed about the 'fees' for playing pre-owned games, so long as it doesn't shoot people in the foot, a lot of my 360 games are pre-owned titles, which brings me onto the biggest disappointment, No Backwards Compatibility: I was hoping there would be some sort of software patch that enables some sort of Backwards Compatibility, but it seems there's nothing at all, which means, when i splash down £40 on GTA 5 in Sept, then £300 in October for the One, i wont be able to just switch console, instead, the 360 will have to stay out. It's a huge kicker, but i guess the Pros of switching from IBM to x86 outweigh the Cons. Still, Payday in a few days, and i can put down a Deposit on the Pre-Order Sam
I'm not a console gamer but I don't hate them. For me the idea of no backwards capability and not just being able to go round a friends with some games and controllers without having to faff about with accounts and installing games etc is stupid. I thought the idea of pickup and play was one of the best bits about a console?
