According to one person, "It isn't a problem for performance however."He further states, "The narrowness of the base improves air flow and also makes it easier to mount this heat sink on an Athlon 64 if you remove the heatspearder, with most other heat sinks you have to sand down the raided part of the cpu socket to get good contact. If you do remove the heatspreader and intend to use this heatsink you might have to use differnt screws to mount it however, the heatspreader is thick and you may not get enough tension with the default mounting screws." I have read favorable reviews of this heatsink, but all of this is a bit much. What is being discussed here. What affect or downfall might this actually have? I was planning on using a Vantec 92mm Tornado fan with the special cable. Would that work with the Cool 'N Quiet?
