While the Frio comes much higher recommended (and I know some people are going to want to smack me, while modders will understand), I can't abide the red piping on the side in my blue - mod case. I'm just starting to get to work on sleeving my new rig, and decided with the black and blue mobo and the blue GPU that blue would be the trim of choice for this rig.

Are there any particular cons to the black and silver V8?

Along similar lines, I have no idea where to start shopping for blue bladed (quiet) fans. 120mm.

The red piping comes off with a gentle tug. It's not held on strongly at all.

Other than the fact it's quite a big old beast and not the cheapest in the world, it's a good cooler.

    Next question:

Is it necessarily a good idea to replace the 120's on a CPU Cooler?

Gut instinct tells me it's a bad idea.

Want to do my case up in this or this

Depends what you're replacing them with...lol..Obviously better fans are a good idea but if you still want the mobo to control them, remember to make sure they are PWM fans.

The V8 is a good cooler indeed but....his 120mm is a real pain in the ass to remove. Moreover you can install 2 fan on the Frio. About the Blue fan look for Gelid, they are good and quiet

Thanks Black - I actually just ran into one of those this morning. They look like decent enough fans, they have to be better than thermaltake made fans compared to Scythe/Noctua/Loons, afterall, the meat of a cooler is the heatsink, not the fans (not to discredit the fans, they *do* do a bit of work, just not as pivotal a role).

Any experience with Noiseblockers like these

I can say that they are better than Scythe(Everage quality, they old bad), they use Nanoflux bearing instead basic sleeves. Of course they are more expensive, like the good stuff are generally.

About Noctua well hummmmmmm you said you want blue fans so lolll

German quality, efficient Nb-nanosli bearing if I remember well. They are respectable, I put them in my top 5.

    1#Noctua
2#Denki (Used in the Seasonic PSU, unkillable)
    3#Papst
    4#Noiseblocker
    5#SilenX
