News Thief 4 storyboard images leaked

Oh joy. The same guys developing a Thief game that thought Deus Ex needed boss fights. I'm so excited I could throw up.

 

I have this horrible feeling that the final graphics AND atmosphere of the game will not even live up to the storyboard images.

Amidst all the doom and gloom I shall quietly stay optimistic and hope this could be a game that lives up to it's (rose-tinted) predecessors.

Where's Garrett's dodgy eye? Nowhere to be seen in those illustrations!

I hope this turns out well, being a big fan of the Thief series.

 

Actually, I got more of an early industrial era from the images, than Medieval. The clothing that the women are wearing and some of the interior pics made me think this.

 

Wonder if it will use the same engine as DX:HR.

 

i miss Thief series so bad, no matter how crappy/console-y this is, i'll pick up a copy.


wait... then again Hitman now got path-view and x-ray vision....

 

I'm not sure how to feel about this in light of DXHR.
It was okay, not amazing; and let down by some horrible game design decisions (without even thinking of the boss fights).

It was weird that TDS felt like a Thief game for me despite some huge changes to the gameplay by a different development company - But I just can't get my hopes up that it could happen again and that Thief 4 will capture the same atmosphere.
That atmosphere was crucial to my enjoyment of the previous Thief games; and I worry that Eidos Montreal might be emboldened by their successes with DXHR and go too far in their own direction with this one.

 

Surely that just makes it more accessible? Have some self restraint and just don't use that vision if you want to be hardcore instead of whining about it on the internet. I don't see how you can possibly have a problem with added options that are optional.

 

It will most likely just be a reskinned DX:HR, same will probably apply to Hitman Absolution.

Game modes:
Nightmare > Hardcore > Hard > Normal > Easy > Extra easy > Pre school baby > Console players

Each one should come with its own features.

Btw, "Thi4f" is a ridiculous name.. I too refuse to call it like that. This and call FallOut 3 "Fallout"

 

I'd hoped they'd got rid of THI4F as the title by now.
The game looks like its entered the victorian age by the looks of the woman.

I had the first one running on my first windows pc, back in 1999.
I still have the game..lol

 

too much nostalgia. I was a huge hitman fan, but that game play style is pretty outdated compared to modern stealth games. I watched the 15 minutes of gameplay footage and it looked somewhat batman AA inspired, but that's honestly not a bad thing the game play looked appropriate the tone and subtle humor were still there and of course the graphics looked good.

i'm bummed that they dropped jesper kyde and the original voice talent but I'll have high hopes. For both hitman and thief 4

 

As long as they forget all about thief 3 and follow the style of the first two games i'll be happy.
