News Thief 4 to debut at GDC

we need more stealth games, can't wait to see some gameplay video of this, definitely the one to look out for

 

I'm not sure whether to be excited at the prospect of another brilliant old-style Thief game or depressed at the thought of a reimagined dumb-down action-shooter as Deus Ex 3 looks like it will be.

 

I hope hope hope that this doesn't turn into the usual easymode ps3/xbox game. The originals weren't that easy, and I want more of that!

 

Needs to be better than TS' climb wall to win approach.

 

i think the problem with the stealth gameplay genre is that it's relatively binary: either your totally invisible, or you accidently step into one gaurds vision and it's game over as they all hunt you down till death.

I loved the original thief and the hitman series but they both suffer from this. I would be happy if it took a bit more of an assasins creed gameplay type, but with more technical ways to escape and avoid detection (water arrows and such)

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

 

Be interesting to see what direction this goes in.

 

YEEEEEEEEES! I LOVE Thief.
Not so sure about the notion to update it though, Not sure I find the idea of "Thief 4:Modern Fellony" appealing, might ruin or muddy the formula that made it great in the first place, oh and let me guess It will star a relative of garrett.
I think the similarities of an updated Thief and the AC franchise is unavoidable and if they update Thief it would still represent forthcoming AC titles (it looks like we due a lot more desmond) , remember though Theif has always been more slow moving considered in pace than running around at pace swinging off balconies and such.

 

Glad to see they arent reffering to it as Thi4f anymore though!
